“Bahandi"

This costume is inspired by the Bulawan Festival of Davao De Oro. "Bahandi" is a Visayan word meaning "wealth" in English. The design inspiration behind this masterpiece lies not in the Bulawan or gold itself, but in its people—who are the true wealth of the province. Gifted by the gods with fertile land to nurture and bountiful resources to support the needs of its people, the costume celebrates the richness of the community and its heritage.
