Prayer for the Victims of the 7.8 Magnitude Earthquake
Heavenly Father,
We come before You with heavy hearts as we pray for all those affected by the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake. We ask for Your mercy, comfort, and protection upon the victims, their families, and the communities that have suffered loss and destruction.
Lord, embrace those who are grieving the loss of loved ones. Grant them strength, peace, and hope amid their sorrow. Comfort those who are injured, frightened, homeless, and uncertain about the future. May they find refuge in Your loving presence.
We pray for the rescue workers, healthcare providers, volunteers, and all those offering assistance. Give them courage, wisdom, and endurance as they work tirelessly to save lives and provide relief to those in need.
Bless the efforts of governments, humanitarian organizations, and generous individuals who extend aid and support. May their actions bring healing, restoration, and renewed hope to the affected communities.
Lord, in times of disaster, remind us of our shared humanity and inspire us to be instruments of Your compassion and love. May Your light shine upon those who suffer, and may Your peace reign in their hearts.
We entrust all the victims into Your care and ask for Your continued guidance and protection.
In Your holy name we pray.
Amen.๐๐๐๐

The National Nutrition Council (NNC) celebrates the power of womenโs leadership and the role everyone can play in advancing gender equality and inclusive development through the International Women's Day every 8th of March.
Aligned with the global campaign โGive To Gain,โ this year's commemoration reminds us that supporting women and girls creates opportunities for them to lead and for communities, institutions, and society to thrive.
In the Philippines, this celebration is part of National Womenโs Month 2026, led by the Philippine Commission on Women, under the campaign โ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ ๐๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐ฒโ and sub-theme โ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ค๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฒ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ฌ, ๐
๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฌ!โ The Babaylans were women leaders in pre-colonial Philippines whose authority came from wisdom, empathy, moral guidance, and the ability to unite and inspire communities. Their example shows that leadership, grounded in courage, care, and insight, is vital for building resilient, equitable, and empowered societies.
NNC stands with women leaders and all champions of gender equality in advancing inclusive development and building a more resilient nation.

The National Nutrition Council (NNC) stands in solidarity with all sectors in celebrating the 30th Girl Child Week with the theme โ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ฐ๐๐ง ๐๐จ, ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐๐ญ๐๐ง ๐๐จ: ๐๐๐ฎ๐ค๐๐ฌ๐ฒ๐จ๐ง ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐จ ๐ฌ๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ญ ๐๐ข๐ ๐ญ๐๐ฌ ๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ฉ๐๐ฌ๐ฒ๐โ (๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก ๐๐โ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐), reaffirming its commitment to the protection, empowerment, and holistic development of every Filipino girl.
Aligned with this yearโs theme, the NNC emphasizes that the right to make informed, safe, and independent decisions begins with access to adequate nutrition, health services, and education. Proper nutrition is foundational in ensuring that girls grow into healthy, productive, and empowered women. However, challenges such as malnutrition, food insecurity, and limited access to nutrition services continue to affect many young girls, hindering their full development and potential.
Through sustained programs and partnerships, the NNC continues to advocate for nutrition-sensitive and gender-responsive interventions that prioritize the needs of girlsโespecially during critical stages such as adolescence. These include promoting balanced diets, supporting adolescent nutrition programs, and strengthening community-based initiatives that create enabling environments for informed decision-making.
Let us work together to protect, empower, and uplift every girlโbecause her body, her rights, and her future matter. ๐
