The Math & Science Department successfully conducted its extension activity under STEM Spark Project through a seminar on Laboratory Maintenance, Inventory Management, Standard Safety Protocols, and Chemical Disposal.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Brian John Sarno, Head and Professor of Chemistry at EVSU Tacloban, for sharing his expertise and valuable insights, which will undoubtly guide us toward safer and more efficient laboratory practices.

In accordance with the PIT Memorandum 82, s. 2022, the opening of classes for school year 2022-2023 will be on tomorrow, August 15, 2022, however, there will be no physical reporting of students in the campus. In the meantime, classes will proceed through flexible modes of learning.

Please keep abreast of updates regarding the start of limited face to face classes.

The ocean connects, supports, and sustains humanity. It is a worldwide collaborative effort to rehabilitate its health to pristine conditions so that we could bring back its vibrancy. The United Nations declares June 8, 2022 as the World Oceans Day with the theme "Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean."

Let us work together to restore the balance in our oceans and increase its bounty.

In celebration of the Earth Day 2022, with the theme "Invest in Our Planet," the Mathematics and Science Department held a Digital Photography Contest. This contest is open to all bona fide students of the Palompon Institute of Technology. The digital photographs showcased the creativity of the students in showing how they could help save and sustain our own planet, Earth.

We are proud to announce the winners for this year's PIT Earth Day 2022 Digital Photography Contest:

3rd Place: Howie Smart Beray (BSMT)

The Mathematics and Science Department joins the international community in celebrating the Earth Day 2022 on April 22, 2022. The celebration is an annual event that aims to demonstrate support for the environmental protection. This year, Earth Day has the theme "Invest in our planet."

As the saying goes: “A picture paints a thousand words.” Mathematics and Science Department (PIT-MSD) believes that photography has the power to inspire, teach and raise mindfulness into safeguarding our planet, Earth.

In celebration of the Earth Month 2022, the Mathematics and Science Department (MSD) holds the Earth Month 2022 Digital Photography Contest.

The only acceptable manipulation includes correction of red-eye, cropping, and straightening of photos. No added text, color manipulations, or other digital enhancements.
