The I-pattern features embroidery running straight down the front, creating a clean, formal, and elongating silhouette.

The U-pattern frames the chest in a curved layout, offering a more ornate and traditional look.

The Raya pattern elevates the design further by extending the embroidery beyond the front panels to the shoulders, sleeves, and even the back—resulting in a fuller, more intricate piece that showcases craftsmanship from every angle.

Today let's zoom in and admire the craftsmanship in our own barong or Filipiniana—every stitch tells a story: nature- or ethnic-inspired embroidery, delicate beadwork, and signature openwork (calado), all painstakingly done by hand.
