Celebrating International Nurses Day 2026

In celebration of International Nurses Day 2026, the officers of the Philippine Nurses Association Northwestern Leyte Chapter conducted visits to various hospitals and health units across Northwestern Leyte as part of its continuing commitment to recognize, support, and connect with nurses in the community.

Alongside the celebration, the chapter also spearheaded an information drive and membership caravan to strengthen awareness about the organization’s programs, advocacies, and the importance of unity within the nursing profession. The activity provided an avenue to engage with nurses from different institutions, encourage professional collaboration, and promote active participation in the organization.

This meaningful initiative highlights the dedication of nurses who continuously serve with compassion, excellence, and resilience in every healthcare setting. The chapter proudly honors all nurses whose tireless efforts make a significant impact on the lives of individuals and communities every day.

𝗣𝗡𝗔 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝘆𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 | 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴

The PNA Northwestern Leyte Chapter successfully convened nursing leaders from various sectors for the Nursing Executives Meeting held on April 25, 2026, at the WLC-CONAHS Building, Ormoc City.

The gathering brought together clinical, academic, and public health nursing leaders in a unified effort to align local initiatives with the PNA Roadmap 2030. A key highlight of the opening was the message of Dean Emma Lissa B. Ramirez of WLC-CONAHS and past President, who strongly emphasized that no nurse will be left behind, underscoring the shared responsibility of leaders to uphold the welfare, inclusivity, and professional growth of all nurses across Northwestern Leyte.

Another significant highlight was the presence and insightful talk of the PNA Region 8 Governor, who shared the current initiatives, strategic directions, and future plans of the National PNA. The discussion provided clarity on aligning regional and local efforts with national priorities, guiding leaders in translating these into responsive and sustainable programs. The chapter extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude for the Governor’s presence and valuable contribution to the success of this activity.

The program also featured the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with Daffon ENT Clinic and a localization workshop translating national pillars into concrete chapter-level goals. Additionally, Project CENSuS was introduced to strengthen membership engagement and institutional mapping within the chapter.

The meeting concluded with a synthesis of insights and strategic ways forward, reinforcing collaboration, unity, and service excellence.

This activity stands as a testament to the chapter’s commitment to building a connected and empowered nursing community that is one that advocates not only for professional advancement but also for the welfare and work-life balance of every nurse in Northwestern Leyte.
