𧨠Public Advisory: Fireworks and Wildlife Safety
Fireworks may be festive for people, but they can be harmful and even deadly to wild animals.
Loud explosions cause extreme stress and panic, especially among birds, mammals, and marine life. Animals may flee suddenly, become disoriented, abandon their young, or suffer injuries and exhaustion. Firework debris can also pollute land and water, putting wildlife at further risk.
This is especially concerning in areas near:
β’ Wildlife sanctuaries and rescue centers
β’ Forests and coastal zones
β’ Protected and biodiversity-rich areas
πΏ How You Can Help
β’ Avoid using fireworks near wildlife habitats
β’ Choose silent fireworks, light shows, or other low-noise celebrations
β’ Limit fireworks to short, designated time periods
β’ Be mindful that celebrations should not come at the cost of animal lives
Let us celebrate responsibly and protect the wildlife we share this environment with.
Small actions can make a big difference. πΎπ
