Rights First: LRP Desk Opens for SHS Job Seekers in Panabo City

PANABO CITY — To ensure the safety and welfare of graduating students entering the workforce, a dedicated Learner Rights and Protection (LRP) Desk was officially established during the One-Stop Shop for SHS-TVL Graduates and Jobs Fair held at the Panabo Multipurpose Tourism and Cultural Center Gymnasium on March 13, 2026.

The initiative aims to promote the overall welfare of first-time job seekers from the Senior High School-Technical Vocational Livelihood (SHS-TVL) track. By placing the LRP Desk at the heart of the recruitment hub, organizers sought to ensure a secure and supportive environment for graduates, reinforcing the commitment to learner safety as they transition from the classroom to the professional world.

As part of the advocacy, 150 sets of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials were distributed to the learners , providing them with essential guides on safety and protection. Adding to the event's visibility, the LRP Mascot made a special appearance, engaging with the youth to further promote the mission of the Learner Rights and Protection Office.

The Job Fair brought together various employers and government agencies, offering a streamlined process for graduates to apply for positions and secure necessary pre-employment documents. The addition of the LRP Desk marks a proactive shift in learner support, extending protection beyond school grounds and into the early stages of career development.

Safe Spaces in Action: DepEd XI Establishes LRP Desks and Learner Support Centers for 2026 DAVRAA

Prioritizing the holistic well-being of student-athletes, DepEd Region XI has officially established Learner Rights and Protection (LRP) Desks and Learner Support Centers throughout the 2026 DAVRAA Meet. These Support Centers serve as a vital Safe Space, offering athletes a sanctuary where they can rest, play, read, and access professional counseling after the physical and mental demands of competition. To ensure comprehensive coverage, LRP Desks are stationed at every billeting quarter in close coordination with Provincial Government Agencies, facilitating 24/7 assistance and advocacy.

This initiative is backed by rigorous, ongoing monitoring of all playing venues and quarters across every division. A key component of this oversight is the identification and documentation of Best Practices from each division, creating a collaborative knowledge base that can be shared region-wide for future adoption. By bridging immediate support with long-term systemic improvement, DepEd XI ensures that the environment remains secure, supportive, and conducive to the peak performance and mental health of every learner-athlete.
