If your basis of being a successful person is relative to another one's success like those who are younger or people in your age group, maybe, you're measuring it in the wrong way. Baka mali 'yung mga sukatan mong ginagamit para i-define ang success? Magkakaiba kasi tayo ng buhay eh, ng mga pinahahalagahan. Hmmm, at kung material na mga bagay at recognitions lang pala ang basis ng tagumpay, mukhang mahaba-haba pang oras ang gugugulin natin para maging masaya at matagumpay. 🙂

Our recent Grand Opening event was an incredible success and we would like to extend our heartfelt thank you to everyone for taking part of this rare gathering! For those of you that came, sent messages and called to greet best wishes, we are extremely grateful. Below are some photos from the event.

It was great to have the opportunity to meet so many of these people face to face and it was fantastic to see many leaders and sponsors in the same room, enjoying themselves.

When I was in college and during my practice teaching, my effectiveness as a teacher was often perceived and rated through "classroom management". Sure, the principles are very effective because you get a control of the classroom and the behaviour of your students. However, the effect was momentarily. When these very active students got out from the classroom, their restrained impulse would burst out and was a chaos.

I think classroom management is a traditional approach in effective teaching because it is Teacher-centered. It's all about what a Teacher wants to see from the students, the Teacher's expectations. You may argue that it is how a Teacher's effectiveness is being measured. Hence, this argument only proves a Teacher-centered approach. We must know that our 21st century teaching should be a Learner-centered environment. This is why no matter what seminars about 21st century teaching have been conducted nationwide, they do not change the trend of education in the country. It's ironic to promote 21st century teaching for the 21st century learners while adhering an old pattern of classroom management.

I suggest that we must shift our approach from classroom management [to something more practical and more personalized teaching avenue]. Remember, routinary activities get boring and foster mediocrity and stagnation. Why? Because it's a routine and does not require creativity and innovation. We must move to what I call "Classroom Leadership"!

When you hear classroom leadership what comes to your mind? You might probably think about a teacher leading the classroom, or a wider scope of leadership possessed by all individuals present in the classroom, both the learners and the teacher. Either, you are right. I am talking about a Teacher's role as leader, and also that of students' leadership. It must have a domino effect; Teacher sets the example, then learners would see and eventually learn from it.

Imagine a classroom where the learners perceive and act on to their leadership roles. It would become a classroom where everyone is responsible for their own learning; where teacher serves as visionary facilitator who makes sure that learners are heading to the right direction. The objective is to see Learners do the propelling where everyone acts, helps, and participates. This is my vision in promoting Classroom Leadership!

You really nailed it ! I was there to see how your audience got enlightened, I was thrilled to see them riveted in your training! It was an amazing you! I couldn't miss to capture these students anxiously taking down some notes.
