SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE | 05.31.26

After telling His disciples that they would be scattered because of His arrest, Jesus Christ immediately gave them hope by assuring them of His resurrection. Though they would fail Him and flee in fear, His death would not be the end. Jesus Christ knew that He would rise again, and He promised to meet His disciples in Galilee. This shows the 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱, 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝗺.

We are reminded that our failures are not the end of God’s work in our lives. The Lord is full of mercy and restoration. Even when we stumble, He remains faithful to His promises and calls us back to Himself. Therefore, we can live with hope and confidence, knowing that the 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲.

Matthew 26:31 KJV, is the records the words of Jesus Christ to His disciples before His arrest: “𝑨𝒍𝒍 𝒚𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕: 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏, 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒔𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒅, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒅.”Jesus was preparing His disciples for the trials that were about to come. He quoted the prophecy of Zechariah to show that His suffering and the scattering of His disciples were part of God’s plan. Although the disciples loved the Lord, fear and confusion caused them to leave Him and flee when He was arrested. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝗺, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗮𝘀 𝗜𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝗺, just as the Scriptures had foretold.

This verse shows both the weakness of man and the truth of God’s Word. As we reflect on this verse today, we are reminded to trust the Lord during times of testing and uncertainty. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀. Therefore, we should stay close to Christ, stand firm in His Word, and depend on His strength, 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲.

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗶𝘀. 𝗟𝗲𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹!

May the Lord continue to bless you as you faithfully serve Him. May your life continue to bring honor and glory to the Lord, and may He guide your steps, strengthen your faith, and fill your heart with His joy and peace.

𝙏𝙬𝙤 𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙣 𝙖 𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙡.

𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙨 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙨 𝙃𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙩.
𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙃𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙃𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨.

The message of this song reminds us that our Lord Jesus Christ willingly chose the cross for us. Philippians 2:8 tells us that He “became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Though He had all power and could have escaped the suffering of Calvary, He remained because of His great love for sinful mankind. The cross was not merely a symbol of pain and death; it became the place where our sin debt was paid and where peace with God was made possible. Jesus endured the shame, rejection, and suffering that we deserved so that we could receive forgiveness and eternal life through Him. As we reflect upon His sacrifice, may we never view the cross as an ordinary emblem, but as a precious reminder of the Savior who willingly suffered in our place. Because He chose the cross, we have hope, freedom, and salvation through His amazing grace.
