The Philippine National Police (PNP) is considering Murcia, Negros Occidental as the strategic location for the headquarters of the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR).

PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. told senators that several sites were offered, but Murcia was deemed the most suitable due to its proximity to Bacolod City and accessibility to other parts of Negros Island.

Nartatez said the proposed regional headquarters will occupy seven hectares.

The PRO-NIR will cover Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, and Bacolod City, with personnel to be drawn from the former regional police offices of Western and Central Visayas.*

Happy Birthday, Vice Mayor Johnny Reosura!

Wishing you a birthday filled with joy, good health, and countless blessings. May you continue to be guided with wisdom and strength as you serve the people of Murcia.

May this special day bring you happiness and inspire you to continue making a positive difference in the community.

On behalf of Mayor Gerry Rojas, EAII Erwin Apua attended the Forum on Regional Line Agencies' Programs, Projects, and Services and Availment Mechanism for LGUs, conducted by the Regional Development Council – Negros Island Region (RDC-NIR).

The forum provided an opportunity to gain valuable insights into the programs, projects, and services offered by regional line agencies, as well as the mechanisms and processes available for Local Government Units (LGUs) to access and avail of these initiatives.

The activity underscores the importance of strengthening coordination between LGUs and national government agencies to facilitate access to government programs and services for the benefit of local communities.
