LOOK | PEST D-Tech Facilitates Training on the Fundamentals of Object Detection Annotation for Machine Learning
The PEST D-Tech team, through the Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management, hosted a training seminar on crop image annotation for third-year Crop Protection students specializing in Plant Pathology and Entomology. This training is essential for the machine learning model the team is currently developing.
The activity was very timely for two key reasons. First, the PEST D-Tech team is currently working on its final project deliverable. Second, the seminar directly benefited the students who are currently enrolled in the Precision and Digital Agriculture module of their Laboratory and Field Techniques in Crop Protection subject.
By conducting this seminar, the PEST D-Tech team successfully fulfilled one of the key objectives of the project's 6Ps components. Furthermore, the training was instrumental in helping young minds understand the processes involved in using advanced technologies for improving crop health.
The culmination of the activity was held with the awarding of a certificate of completion, which was attended by the team members, spearheaded by the Project Leader and Head of ICCEM, Dr. Gella Patria L. Abella.
