As communities face the challenges ahead, let us keep them in our hearts and prayers; for safety, strength, healing, and hope. Bago Naging Parada, Naging Protesta Muna

Tuwing sumasapit ang buwan ng Hunyo, madalas nating nakikita ang mga bahagharing watawat, makukulay na parada, at mga mensahe ng pagmamahal at pagtanggap. Ngunit mahalagang isaalang-alang na ito ay isinilang bilang protesta.

Noong Hunyo 28, 1969, sa harap ng Stonewall Inn sa New York City, sumiklab ang galit ng isang komunidad na matagal nang pinatahimik. Sa loob ng maraming taon, paulit-ulit na sinalakay ng kapulisan ang mga lugar na tanging ligtas na espasyo para sa mga taong nabibilang sa LGBTQIA at iba pang sekswal na minorya. Sila ay inaresto, pinahiya, tinanggalan ng trabaho, at itinuring na mga mamamayang walang karapatan.

Ngunit sa gabing iyon, tumanggi silang umatras at matakot.

Sa unang pagkakataon, hindi nila tinanggap ang pang-aabuso bilang normal. Hindi sila nagkubli sa takot. Hindi sila nanahimik. Lumaban sila. Ang mga sigaw sa lansangan ng Stonewall ay hindi lamang laban nang sila ay lusubin ng kapulisan. Ito ay laban sa isang sistemang nagtatakda kung sino lamang ang karapat-dapat na respetuhin, pakinggan, at ituring na tao.

Mula sa abo ng Stonewall ay isinilang ang isang pandaigdigang kilusan. Isang kilusang nagsasabing walang sinuman ang dapat ikahiya kung sino siya. Isang kilusang humihingi hindi ng espesyal na pagtrato, kundi ng pantay na karapatan, pantay na oportunidad, at pantay na dignidad.

Hanggang ngayon, nananatiling protesta ang Pride.

Protesta ito laban sa diskriminasyon sa paaralan, trabaho, simbahan, at komunidad. Protesta ito laban sa karahasang nararanasan ng mga transgender. Protesta ito laban sa mga batas at sistemang patuloy na nagkakait ng pagkilala at proteksyon sa LGBTQIA+ community. Protesta ito laban sa kulturang nagtuturo na may mga taong dapat ikubli ang kanilang pagkatao upang matanggap ng lipunan.

Ang Pride ay hindi lamang para sa LGBTQIA+ community. Ito ay panawagan sa bawat isa na manindigan laban sa anumang anyo ng pang-aapi. Sapagkat walang tunay na kalayaan hangga't may mga taong kinakailangang ipaglaban ang kanilang karapatang mabuhay nang walang takot.

Ngayong Pride Month, huwag lamang nating isuot ang mga kulay ng bahaghari. Dalhin natin ang diwa ng paglaban na nagsimula sa Stonewall. Sapagkat ang Pride ay hindi lamang tungkol sa kung sino ang ating minamahal.
Ito ay tungkol sa pagtindig para sa katarungan.
At hangga't may diskriminasyon, may dahilan upang magprotesta.

Enrollment Steps for the Higher Education Unit
AY 2026-2027, 1st Semester

🔵STEP 1. Online Registration
🔹For new, visit https://sccsims.infinitph.com/enrollment/SCC/
🔹For continuing, transferee, or returning students, visit https://southernchristiancollege.edu.ph/online-registration/
🟠 Continuing students are required to Login to the SCC-AIS Portal account to continue
the Online Registration process.
🟠 New students must have taken the Admission Test and the TAT (for Education programs) before proceeding with the payment of entrance fee.
🟠 New students and transferees are required to submit their admission requirements to the Registrar’s Office.

🔵STEP 2. Payment of Entrance Fee
🔹Print and submit your Pre-Registration Notice to the Accounting and Assessment Office, windows 17 or 18.
🔹Pay a down payment of ₱1,500.00 at windows 2, 3, or 4 of the Business and Finance Office.
🔹For bank payments, please refer to the payment details sent to your email. For faster payment verification, you may use the QR code (Scan-to-Pay) available at the Business and Finance Office.

🔵STEP 3. Validation of Online Enrollment
🔹The Program Head/Dean will evaluate your Pre-Registration Form and may require your presence during the evaluation.

🔵STEP 4. Confirmation of Online Enrollment
🔹You will receive an email notification from the Registrar’s Office confirming that you are officially enrolled.
🔹Make a screenshot or print the Official Registration Form sent to you via email as proof of your enrollment while waiting for the Blue Form from the Registrar’s Office.

🔵STEP 5. ID Capture and Validation
Present your Official Registration Form to the OSAS for ID validation, SAS card, and CSG Fee amounting to ₱ 110.00.

Visit the SCC Website and access the SCC-AIS Portal to proceed with your online registration.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟮: 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗲
Print your pre-registration notice and submit it to the Accounting and Assessment Office. New students and transferees are also advised to submit the required admission documents.

𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 | 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐘𝐞𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝

Mary Ann Bevan was once known as a beautiful woman in the late 19th century. She finished her nursing degree and lived a happy and peaceful life. Later on, she married the man she loved and became a mother to four children. For a time, their family lived happily together.

But everything changed when Mary developed acromegaly, a disorder caused by the excessive production of growth hormone. Because of this condition, her face and body gradually became enlarged and distorted.

The beautiful woman slowly turned into someone the world cruelly mocked for her appearance.

One would think that her suffering had already reached its end, but life continued to test her. Her husband died, leaving her alone to raise, feed, guide, and love their four children. Although Mary was a trained nurse, finding work became nearly impossible. Hospitals rejected her because of the way she looked.

Desperate to provide for her children, Mary joined a competition for the “ugliest woman” in town. Out of more than 200 contestants, she won first place.

Why would a woman who had already suffered so much choose to humiliate herself in front of people?

Because she loved her children more than her own pride.

She had to choose between hunger and survival.

For thirteen years, Mary worked in a circus where people stared at her as if she were a living exhibit. She endured endless humiliation, cruel laughter, and painful judgment from strangers. She carried the weight of shame every single day.

But she never gave up.

She endured everything for the love of the four children who depended on her.

The world may have called her the ugliest woman who ever lived, but her story reveals something far greater. Mary Ann Bevan became one of the most beautiful examples of a mother’s unconditional love and sacrifice.

This Mother’s Day, may we take a moment to embrace our mothers and remind them how much they are loved. A simple “I love you” may seem small, but sometimes, those words are enough to give them strength to continue fighting for their family every single day.

In preparation for a productive and meaningful academic year ahead, the SCC-JSWAP successfully conducted its Action Planning for the 1st and 2nd Semester of the Academic Year 2026–2027 on May 8, 2026. The activity gathered all SCC-JSWAP officers together with the organization’s adviser to discuss, organize, and strengthen the plans and programs that will guide the organization throughout the year.

The action planning was attended by all SCC-JSWAP officers with no absences, showing the officers’ dedication, unity, and commitment to serving the organization and its members. The SCC-JSWAP adviser also took part in the discussion, giving guidance and valuable insights to ensure that the organization’s goals and proposed activities align with its mission and purpose.

The main objective of the planning was to prepare organized and effective activities for both semesters. During the session, officers presented ideas, proposed projects, and discussed programs that aim to promote leadership, teamwork, student participation, and community involvement. Different concerns and suggestions were also addressed to improve future activities and strengthen coordination among officers.

Through collaborative discussions and active participation, the organization was able to create strategic plans that will help SCC-JSWAP conduct meaningful and successful events for the entire academic year. The officers also emphasized the importance of cooperation, responsibility, and commitment in carrying out their duties as student leaders.

The action planning became an opportunity not only to prepare upcoming activities but also to strengthen the bond among officers and encourage teamwork within the organization. With clear goals and unified plans, SCC-JSWAP is now ready to face Academic Year 2026–2027 with confidence, determination, and a shared commitment to excellence and service.
