FAQs About the Strait of Hormuz (With Biblical Insight)

1. What is the Strait of Hormuz?

The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow but strategically critical waterway between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. A significant portion of the world’s oil supply passes through it daily.

Keypoint:

It is a global economic chokepoint—any disruption affects nations worldwide.

Biblical Reflection:

> “And upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity…” — Luke 21:25 (KJV)

Global dependence on such narrow passages reflects how fragile human systems are.

---

2. Why is it so important globally?

Roughly 20–30% of the world’s oil shipments transit this strait. It connects major oil-producing nations (e.g., Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait) to global markets.

Keypoint:

It influences fuel prices, economies, and geopolitical stability.

Biblical Reflection:

> “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” — Matthew 16:26 (KJV)

Nations prioritize economic gain, but eternal matters are often neglected.

---

3. Why is it often in the news?

The Strait of Hormuz is a hotspot for geopolitical tension, especially involving Iran, the U.S., and allied nations. Threats to block or control it raise fears of global crisis.

Keypoint:

It is a flashpoint for conflict that could escalate quickly.

Biblical Reflection:

> “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled…” — Matthew 24:6 (KJV)

Such tensions are consistent with prophetic patterns of increasing global unrest.

---

4. What happens if it is blocked?

If the Strait were blocked:

Oil supply would drop sharply

Prices would surge globally

Economic instability could follow

Keypoint:

The world is interconnected and vulnerable.

Biblical Reflection:

> “Riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away…” — Proverbs 23:5 (KJV)

Material systems can collapse suddenly; they are not secure foundations.

---

5. Does the Bible speak about such global instability?

While the Strait of Hormuz itself is not mentioned, the Bible clearly describes:

Economic instability

Wars and tensions

Global distress

Keypoint:

These events align with last-days conditions.

Biblical References:

> “For nation shall rise against nation…” — Matthew 24:7 (KJV)
“In the last days perilous times shall come.” — 2 Timothy 3:1 (KJV)

---

6. What should believers understand from these events?

Keypoints:

The world is temporary and unstable

God’s Word is certain and unchanging

Events should point us to spiritual readiness

Biblical Reflection:

> “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” — Matthew 24:35 (KJV)

---

Takeaway: How Should We Respond Biblically?

1. Do Not Be Fearful, But Watchful

> “See that ye be not troubled…” — Matthew 24:6 (KJV)
✔ God calls for calm vigilance, not panic.

---

2. Prioritize the Gospel

> “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel…” — Mark 16:15 (KJV)
✔ Global instability is a reminder that souls matter more than systems.

---

3. Trust in God, Not World Systems

> “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1 (KJV)
✔ Economic and political systems may fail—God does not.

---

4. Live With Eternal Perspective

> “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” — Colossians 3:2 (KJV)
✔ Keep focus on eternal security, not temporary stability.

---

5. Be Ready Spiritually

> “Therefore be ye also ready…” — Matthew 24:44 (KJV)
✔ These events are reminders to be prepared for Christ’s return.

---

Final Challenge

✔ Are you trusting in global stability—or in God?
✔ Are you watching the news more than you are reading Scripture?
✔ Are you ready to share the Gospel in uncertain times?

---

Closing Thought

The Strait of Hormuz shows how easily the world can be shaken. But the believer stands on something unshakable:

> “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” — Hebrews 13:8 (KJV)

In a world of rising tension, our mission is clear:
Stay grounded in God’s Word, and urgently share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. ⏤ Philippians 4:7

In His peace, our hearts find their home, untouched by the storm. ⏤ J.R. Miller

The day is done, Father, and we bring it to You. Please bless it. As it is folded away with all past days, to remain closed until the books are opened, pass Your cleansing hand over it, and seal it with Your grace. Bless all we have done, forgive our sins, and sanctify all our experiences. Make our hearts clean and strengthen our souls.

We ask for Your rich blessings upon our home and family life. You created the home; the family is Your design. So, we ask with confidence that You make our home pleasing to You, filled with love, fellowship, and all that is good. Bless each of us, young and old. Guide our family in the future, helping the young to grow in divine beauty, making our home a place that reflects Heaven. Help us make our home welcoming, loving, and a source of holy influence.

We bring all our concerns to You—our work, our household chores, our studies, our friendships, our hopes, plans, and fears. Grant Your grace upon all these things. We pray for the responsibilities You have given us, especially those related to Your kingdom. Help us be faithful in every duty, and may nothing suffer under our care.

Almighty and most merciful Father, we commend ourselves and all who are dear to us into Your hands. Tenderly care for the elderly, have pity on the weak and tempted, show mercy to the fallen, comfort the sorrowing, and bless the sick and those who care for them. Hear us, O God. Receive our prayer and save us, through Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Traitor’s Kiss

Hail, master; and kissed him. - Matt 26:49

The mere reading of these words makes us shudder. A kiss is meant to be a sign of affection and a pledge of loyalty. Judas’s kiss to Jesus was a solemn pretense of friendship. Yet the kiss was not only false, it was the signal of betrayal. No words are strong enough to describe this crime. We might think of the fable of the poisonous snake taken in by a kind man to be warmed, only to bite the man who saved it. But even this does not capture the depth of Judas’s treachery. It’s no wonder that Judas is condemned by history. A poet once imagined him as placed in the lowest circles of hell, sharing the uttermost punishment with Satan himself, shunned even by the guiltiest.

In reflecting on Judas’s character and sin, we can draw out these lessons:

1. We should not be surprised if some bad people enter the Church, for even among the twelve disciples was a Judas.
2. The presence of hypocrites among Christians does not disprove Christianity. Judas’s betrayal didn’t stain Christ’s name, nor did it negate the loyalty of the other disciples.
3. Proximity to Christ does not guarantee a transformed character. Judas spent three years with Jesus, hearing His words and living in His love, yet he remained unchanged. Just as a sealed bottle can float in the ocean without being filled, so can a heart remain sealed off from Christ’s love, even in His presence. Only when we open our hearts to His grace does closeness to Christ transform us.
4. Sin grows. We never know how far a sinful thought or desire may lead if left unchecked.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. ⏤ 1 John 3:1 (KJV)

Fill our hearts with Your love so that we may see the world as You see it. May we look upon others with Your compassion, patience, and a desire to help. Though our efforts may seem small in this vast world, help us to trust that no true work done for You is ever in vain. Help us to make our little corner of the world holier, brighter, sweeter, and happier. Help us to live out Your life in the place You have assigned us, serving those around us. In this way, we shall be a blessing to our small part of the world.

Peace for the troubled heart! Jesus knows your human affections and anxieties. He doesn’t expect you to be entirely absorbed in His concerns while ignoring your own. He knows where your loved ones are, their names, needs, and sorrows. He will do exceedingly, abundantly more for them than you can imagine. Didn’t David take care of Mephibosheth for Jonathan’s sake? Didn’t the Lord heal Peter’s mother-in-law out of love for Peter? Hand over all your anxieties to Christ, for yourself and for others. Pass it on and let it go. Let the peace of Christ stand guard over your heart and mind, ruling as the ultimate judge of your thoughts and actions. If any thought disrupts your peace, arrest it at the door. If any passion threatens your inner harmony, let the peace of Christ be the solution. “My peace,” He said—the peace that kept and ruled His own heart. He offers us that same peace, not just for the future, but here and now. It is His legacy to us, guaranteed by His blood and by the gift of the Holy Spirit.

God’s Discipline Is Proof of His Love

📖 Hebrews 12:6 — “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth…”

🎯 Goal: Understand that pain, guilt, or hardship is part of God’s loving correction.

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: ⏤ Psalm 103:2 (KJV)

We worship You as our God. Let no part of our soul be silent to You—may every part of our being give thanks to You, our gracious God. We entrust ourselves to Your care for the night. Watch over us and let no harm come to us. Purify our hearts, fill us with Your truth, and let Your Spirit enter us, making us more like You. Consecrate us to Your service.

Isang salitang ginagamit kapag may pagbabagong mangyayari.

❌ Bad Habits to Reflect On

“Children of God — please call home. Your Father is waiting!”

– Santiago 4:8a
