International Women’s Month
“Babae na hindi LAmang, kundi laMANG”

Not just this month should all women be appreciated and celebrated for their beauty, talent, and capability to thrive at all cost.

It was capped before that women should be just at home and be a ‘service’ for male gaze. Right was also limited and access to join behalf of interest was despised by most. Though as time arrowed the heart of unique female individuals, it pumped their heart to take a lead to move.

Success wasn’t easy but never been impossible. They achieved what they should deserve. Freedom to live and be “normal” is slowly given. As they prove that women can do what a man could; validation seeks justice.

In different fields, Women stands up and embrace how powerful they can be. How important their contributions to our new world. Indeed a ‘MOTHER’ for you and me.

Not romantic yet a Carbon Dating

Williard Libby is an American Chemist that studied in University of California at Berkeley and later taught at University of Chicago and UCLA. With the manhattan project, He helped developing a method for separating Uranium isotopes and showed that tritium is a product of cosmic radiation. And in 1947 Libby and his students developed carbon-14 dating or radiocarbon dating(which is a method for the determining the age of an object with a organic materials by using the properties of radiocarbon), which proved to be an exceedingly and important tool for archaeology, anthropology, and earth science in which later earned him the 1960 Nobel Prize.

On this day, we commemorate the birth of one of the founding contributor of what now we called telephone.

In 1876, at the age of 29, Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. In 1877, he formed the Bell Telephone Company.

Flammable mist

On this day, February 24th of 1810, marks the 213 years passing of Henry Cavendish.

He was known for the discovery of what he called inflammable air. He also made a milestone of studying air and calculation of density of the earth. He first noticed that air was perhaps made up of “different kind of air” which led to the discovery of hydrogen. He collected hydrogen by collecting the gas given off by the reaction of metals and strong acids. It can produce water and we know that reaction currently as, 2 H2 (g) + O2 (g) → H2O (l).

A glimpse of humanity

In 1941, Glenn Theodore Seaborg directed a group of chemists to isolate plutonium and other transuranium elements. This journey led him and Edwin M. McMillan to share the same 1951 Nobel Prize In Chemistry. A new atomic number that is higher than Uranium (92), that meant the production of nuclear weapons was possible and not inevitable to happen.

By bombarding Uranium-238 with deuterons, a process begun in mid-December 1940, Plutonium (94) was gained. At night of February 23, 1941— plutonium was born.

In 1997, the team of British scientists worked with the direction of Ian Wilmut at the Roslin Institute near Edinburg which announced the birth of Dolly the sheep, which was the first clone of an adult mamal.

A female Finn Dorset sheep and was also known as Dolly the sheep. Lived from 1996 to 2003. She was produced by British developmental biologist and his colleagues in Scotland, Roslin Institute near Edinburg. The successful cloning was a milestone of science breakthrough. It clears the presumption and wide debate about the impossibility of cloning and misuse of mammalian cloning technology. Around that time, humans were not surprised about the power of cloning and its possible result to human progression.
