At yun po ano, na-villainize na naman po ang rice.

May nagsabi na naman na dapat daw iwasan ang kanin para lumiit ang tiyan. Pero teka lang — let’s break this down with some real talk and science.

✅ Fact: You can’t spot reduce fat — meaning, you can’t choose where your body burns fat from. Kahit iwasan mo pa ang kanin, kung overall calorie balance mo ay di maayos, hindi rin yun ang solusyon para lumiit ang belly fat.

🚫 Myth: “Rice makes you fat.”
Rice is not inherently fattening. What leads to fat gain is caloric surplus — when you eat more than your body needs. Kahit anong pagkain — rice man yan o chicken breast — kapag sobra-sobra, pwede pa ring magdulot ng weight gain.

🍚 Rice is actually a great source of carbs, which are your body's main source of energy — especially if you're working out. Instead of removing rice, focus on portion control, balanced meals, and consistency.

⚖️ The real enemy?
Crash diets, fear-based nutrition advice, and influencers promoting restriction instead of education. Hindi mo kailangan ng extreme changes — kailangan mo ng sustainable habits.

🧠 Better mindset:
You don’t need to cut rice.
You need to understand balance, consistency, and how your whole diet fits into your lifestyle and goals.

Got a comment saying “solid ang turok” — implying I’m on gear.

Let me clear this up: I’m a natural lifter, and I don’t promote steroid use, especially for younger lifters.
Unless medically prescribed, steroids aren’t something to mess with.

You don’t need shortcuts — just good food, proper rest, hard training, and consistency.
That’s how you make real, lasting progress. 💯

I'm really sorry your ex treated you that way. That must’ve been painful.
However, I just wanted to gently share that posts like this might unintentionally discourage others from going to the gym.

The gym should be a safe space—a place where anyone, regardless of their background or past, can build their dream physique, pursue fitness goals, and grow into a stronger, more confident version of themselves.

If your a person changed in a negative way because of the gym, it's likely a reflection of their own character or values—not the gym itself.

I advocate for a healthy gym culture—one built on support, humility, and progress.
Let’s encourage more people to step in, not scare them away. Fitness should empower, not intimidate.

Speaking from personal experience, the gym changed my life for the better. It helped me develop discipline, structure, and healthier habits. Those habits carried over into other parts of my life—because of the gym, I was able to achieve academic excellence, pass the board exams, and show up for myself consistently.
