Marking a decade of victory through law, not force. The July 12, 2016 Arbitral Award affirmed that the Philippines can defend its maritime rights peacefully, through United Nation Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), evidence, and principled action. It protects coastal communities, livelihoods, and one of the worldβs richest marine environments, reminding us that sovereignty is also about food security and future opportunities for every Filipino family. Ten years on, its message is clear: principles matter, lawful action matters, and a rulesβbased order benefits all nations.

DID YOU KNOW: The legal drama βSuitsβ was originally conceived as an investment banking drama, not a legal series.
Creator Aaron Korsh based the idea on his experience working on Wall Street and initially called the project βDominion Capital,β after a fictional investment bank.
In the original version, Mike Ross was an investment banker who lied about attending Harvard rather than a fake lawyer.
The concept changed when a USA Network executive suggested moving the story to a law firm, raising the stakes and creating greater legal and ethical consequences for the main character.
Korsh later said the shift made the show stronger. The revised concept became Suits, one of the most popular legal dramas of the 2010s.

π¨ βSHE LOST HER LICENSEβ¦ SO SHE STARTED DRIVING A BARBIE JEEP TO COLLEGEβ π³π
Back in 2015, students at Texas State University couldnβt believe their eyes when they spotted a young woman cruising around campus in a tiny pink Barbie Jeep instead of a real car.
That woman was 20-year-old Tara Monroe.
After getting her driverβs license suspended following a DWI arrest, Tara still needed a way to get to class. But instead of giving up, she found one of the most unusual solutions imaginable β a secondhand battery-powered Barbie Jeep reportedly purchased for around $60.
Soon, the bright pink toy vehicle became impossible to miss.
Students watched in shock and amusement as Tara slowly drove the child-sized Jeep across sidewalks, parking lots, and campus roads wearing sunglasses like she owned the streets. Photos and videos spread across social media almost overnight, turning her into an internet sensation.
Some people called it hilarious and creative.
Others criticized the situation, saying it made light of a serious offense.
But regardless of where people stood, one thing was certain:
The tiny pink Jeep became one of the most unforgettable college transportation stories the internet had ever seen.
Years later, people still remember the girl who refused to stop showing up β even if it meant driving to college in a Barbie car. ππ
Would YOU have done this if you had no other way to get to school? ππ

Overall Transmission rates down in June 2026 consumersβ electric bills
Power transmission service provider NGCP announced a reduction in overall transmission rates for end consumers this June, driven by lower transmission wheeling and ancillary services (AS) rates.
For the May 2026 billing period, overall average transmission rates declined by 9.33% to PhP1.4492/kWh, from PhP1.5983/kWh in April.
The decrease was due to lower wheeling and AS rates. NGCPβs transmission wheeling rates went down by 6.99%, from PhP0.6028/kWh in the April 2026 billing period to PhP0.5607/kWh in the May 2026 billing period.
Meanwhile, AS rates decreased by 10.73% to PHP0.7220/kWh, compared to PhP0.8088/kWh in April.
Transmission wheeling rates refer to what NGCP charges for its core service of delivering electricity, while AS rates cover the pass-through costs of services sourced from the Reserve Market and from providers with bilateral contracts with NGCP to stabilize the grid during power supply-demand imbalances.
βFor the June 2026 electric bill of end consumers, NGCP charges only 56 centavos per kWh for the delivery of its services,β NGCP said, adding that its revenues are revenue-capped and regulated by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). # # #

A heartbreaking image of an orangutan appearing to challenge a bulldozer became a global symbol of the fight against deforestation.
The photograph was taken during a rescue operation in Borneo, where large areas of rainforest were being cleared for development. While the image captured worldwide attention, conservationists say it also reflected a much larger crisis, with orangutans among the species most threatened by habitat loss and forest destruction
