HAPPENING NOW: Jafar Panahi, one of cinema’s most celebrated auteurs, speaks about the power of storytelling. After winning the Palme d’Or at Cannes for “It Was Just an Accident” (2025) — now nominated for two Academy Awards — he joins a rare group of filmmakers who have won the top prizes at Cannes, Venice (“The Circle”, Golden Lion 2000), and Berlin (“Taxi”, Golden Bear 2015).
