/stay numb and carry on, march 2026/
Bago matapos 'tong buwan, might as well gumawa ng simpleng POSCA acrylic art ng overall feeling nitong March. A combination of ups and downs and buti na rin yung ups ay nangyari on the 2nd half ng buwan na 'to kasi grabe lang yung pagka-busy lately sa work and all kaya di ko magawa yung ibang bagay na gusto ko gawin gaya nito. Tsaka yung feeling lately ay parang nag-float lang sa tubig o sa ere na in a way ay parang mantra na rin. Anyways, bawi ako next month. Looking forward sa mga susunod na buwan and I hope makayanan in any way.

Life continues to flow, regardless of what happens—good or bad. I want this artwork to reflect that feeling, inspired by the necklace I bought, made from broken glass refined by the waves and time. To me, both the necklace and this artwork's floating subject symbolize going with the flow and letting things go. The message is to remember to let life flow and release what we cannot control. With these reflections in mind, I started the creative process for the piece.
The acrylic artwork begins by painting the person's body and the deep water behind. This area is created using four glazes of thinned paint to evoke water. Next, a thick impasto technique is used for the ripple and flow of water, with different colors added to provoke various lighting effects and feelings in the artwork. Lastly, acrylic gloss medium is applied to the entire painting as the final coating.
I created this entry for , but didn't make the longlist. Another lesson learned for this year, to improve my art. I don't know if I want to sell this one, but I'm open to that possibility.

Listening to Madison Beer’s latest album, “Locket,” feels like a warm embrace on the first try. I guess makaka-relate ako sa album na ito kung na-release ito last year especially last September. “You’re still everything” yung isa sa pinaka-paborito kong kanta at masasabi kong “heart” ng album. Relatable siya kasi pinapakita yung emotional depth nung lyrics sa pagiging “emotionally invisible” sa relationship. Also, naiyak ako nung unang pakinggan ko lalo na sa “How am I nothing to you?” kasi it all comes back ulit nung tinry ko magreflect doon sa kantang yun. Ang malungkot pa sa kung paano ginawa yung kanta ay kaya naka-autotune yung raw vocals sa grabeng pag-iiyak niya habang kinakanta niya ito.
Anyway, hope magustuhan niyo itong last-minute fan art bago matapos ang buwan ng pag-ibig at sining, and this album fits perfectly in my opinion. 🩵

Itong post na 'to ay dapat sana nung New Year's Day, kaso sobrang pagod ako nung araw na yun na nakatulog rin ako sa Tiktok live habang ginagawa ko ito. Lumipas ilang araw dahil pabalik na ng Kamaynilaan at back-to-work na ulit kaya late ko na rin natapos ito. Ang idea ay combination siya ng Pantone Color of the Year na "Cloud Dancer" at ng 2026 Chinese Zodiac na Fire Horse, although technically 'di pa naman dahil sa Chinese New Year. Sabi ng ilan na color of the year ay Transformative Teal kaya nilagay ko na lang rin sa mismong kabayo.
Bago ko ginawa itong watercolor art, nag-papatugtog na sa utak ko yung kanta ni Tame Impala na 'The Moment,' na napaka-timely lang rin sa akin ngayong taon. Anyways, more art to come and looking forward sa taong ito. 🤍🐴

Itong fourth album ni Conan Gray na Wishbone ay isang malaking comeback niya ng songwriting process niya kay Dan Nigro at combination rin sa mag natutunan niya kay Max Martin sa past album niya na Found Heaven. To be honest, para itong album ay anak ni Kid Krow at Superache pero mas mature na siya. Yearning ang una ko kaagad naisip sa album na ito especially sa paborito kong kanta na "Care" na kahit wala na sila ay may pag-alala pa rin sa mahal niya, which is magandang closing track sa album, showing yung mature perspective ng kanyang songwriting. In a way, nakakarelate ako sa album na to personally especially sa mga nangyari last year up until last September. Anyways, sana mag-concert tour pa rin siya sa Asia lalo na dito sa Pinas although I doubt especially na hindi natuloy yung Found Heaven concert niya dito last year. Pero I still wish na mayroon ulit dito.
Sana magustuhan niyo yung watercolor fan art na ginawa na reference sa mga kuha sa kanya during gus tour at may halo nung production set din. 💙🍀🦴

December 7 ang isa sa mga memorable na araw ngayong 2025, bukod sa napanood na rin ang Wicked: For Good sa sinehan ay mapanood nang live si Doja Cat dito sa Manila. Kinda bummed na di nakabili ng merch since slight late na rin kami nakapunta after dinner pero worth it manood kahit gen ad na kami ng pinsan ko dahil halos lahat kumakanta. Isang paborito ko mapanood niya i-perform ay Cards, Paint The Town Red, Agora Hils, Silly! Fun!, Demons, Boss B*tch, Say So, Woman, at syempre ang Ain't Sh*t, if you know what I mean sa mga nanood haha. Isa sa memorable sa concert rin pala ay nung na-naoverwhelm siya sa lakas ng hiyawan ng mga tao at mukhang paiyak na rin siya at nag-bow. Yeah, nothing beats the Pinoy crowd talaga. Kahit na masasabi kong paborito ko yung album niya so far ang "Scarlet," maganda ang naging concept ng current album niya na "Vie" dahil mas naging playful siya kung na-build up yung sound at lyrics, and also the fact na 80s themed siya na isa sa mga paborito kong era (same as Found Heaven ni Conan).
Ito pala yung watercolor fan art na ginawa ko na base sa isang kuha ko doon sa concert. Simple lang yung fan art given na simplistic ang visuals ng current album niya. Anyways, hop you like it & more concerts to come pa. Also, maraming salamat ulit, Doja at makabalik ka ulit dito sa Pinas! 🥀 .ph

"Because I knew you, I have been changed for good." - For Good (Wicked: For Good & Wicked)
Grabe iyak ko sa sinehan nung pinanood ko yung sequel or Act 2 ng film adpatation na Wicked. Sa first film, pinaka-touching moment kaya nagustuhan ko yung Wicked ay dahil sa Ozdust ballroom scene ni Elphaba at Galinda and the fact na improv siya makes it better. For the sequel naman kasama na diyan yung For Good na performance at ialng scenes na 'di ko na muna sabihin kung 'di mo pa napanood haha. Although yung bagong kanta ni Elphaba na "Ni Place Like Home" is relatable in a way sa current political context, na ang hirap mahalin ng sariling bansa natin...
Ito yung fwatercolor an art take ko mula sa pelikula at based na rin sa mga film posters. Nainspire lang ako slight sa ginawa ko before na Midsommar fanart na solitaire card design pero para dito ay nakaplaced sa corners ang mga main characters natin. Funny thing is kung paano yung first letter ng bawat name nila ay also literally 'good' at 'evil (perhaps 'wicked' para dito).' Anyways, hope you like it! 🩷💚

Last Monday, nakita ko lang yung kuha ni Andrew McCarthy () na "The Fall of Icarus" thru Tiktok and at the same time, napakinggan ko lang by accident yung bagong single ni Requin Chagrin () na "Parachute," at napaisip lang ako kung gaano kabagay yung dalawa especially kung mapanood niyo yung music video nung bagong single (skateboarding). So might as well combine yung three ideas: yung kuha ni Andrew, Icarus, at yung kanta at music video ni Requin Chagrin into one gouache fan art.
Yung kanta itself ay feeling mo lilipad ka or kaya mo gawin lahat, making the music video makes sense. Also, during that time sobrang down ko tas nakatulong yung kanta na yun. The same feeling kapag nakita niyo yung kuha ni Andrew which nagawa yung kuha na kita ang full details ng araw while at the same time, kita ang freediver through physics (45° angle). Bale nagmukhang nagskateboard yung freediver na may wings (same idea as Icarus).
Anyways, worth seeing yung kuha ni Andrew McCarthy at worth listening yung bagong single ni Requin Chagrin! 🪽☀️

October 25, 2025, would become one of my favorite days of the year as I finally watched her concert film “Mitski: The Land,” based on her 7th studio album, “The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We.” The album itself, despite being new and experimental, already feels like perfection as she experiments more with Americana, country, folk, and orchestral pop. Each song is unique but still unified by love. What makes it more beautiful is that she shows her vulnerability accompanied by an orchestra, making it organic and angelic at the same time. Now, going on to the concert film, what makes her performance memorable isn’t just her well-known songs, such as “Washing Machine Heart”; it is the way she performs her past songs in the country and folk genres, showing all of her fans her creativity not just in songwriting but also in performance. My favorite in the concert film and in her recent album was the song “Star.” It feels like a song for yearning, which I can relate to as the idea focuses on two people continuing to care for one another as a way of remembering the love that they had before.
This is about the watercolor fan art I made. I combined two pictures: one from her studio album and one from her concert film. The two pictures were pieced together from the cracks' design from her album and created a different interpretation of "Kintsugi," a Japanese art practice where broken pottery is glued together and applied with gold, making it more beautiful despite its imperfections. I look forward to her releasing her newest album by winter, just as she told each and every one who watched until the end of the film credits. To Mitski, thank you for being a "star" to each and every fan as you make us appreciate life more through your art. I hope to see you perform live soon. 🌌🌠🌟

Hindi ko sigurado kung tama pero mukhang 60 days nang nakalipas at wala pa ring nakukulong na mga kontraktor, "congtractor," pulitiko, o opisyal sa gobyerno na sangkot ngayon sa kurapsyon tungkol sa flood control projects. Ang nakakatawa pa ay ang mga flood control projects at mga infrastructure projects ay tip of the iceberg pa lang yan kung iisipin sa mga proyekto na may bahid ng kurapsyon.
Ito una kong nai-imagine na ginuhit ko tungkol sa isyu na yan. Sa sobrang iksi ng pasensya ng mga kababayan natin dahil gutom na tayo sa hustisya na makulong nang matagal at syempre maibalik lahat ng pera at yaman na ninakaw nila mula sa taumbayan. Isipin mo, ang laki ng kaltas sa sweldo mo para sa mandatory contribution, idagdag mo pa diyan yang lintek na tagong tax gaya ng VAT na ayaw pa bawasan dahil grabe na epekto nun sa atin. Kung habulin niyo na lang kaya yung mga nagnakaw para doon kumuha ng pondo, lumalabas pa lalo na tamad sila na habulin ang mga hinayupak na mga kurakot at gahaman sa lipunan. Ginawa ko na lang na parang mga zombies (bawat sektor kung titignan mo mabuti) na kinakain nang buhay yung buwayang nakapako sa krus. Tas napapalibutan ng tubig baha na palatandaan na hindi pa rin tapos ang isyu na yan hangga't wala pa ring nakukulong at hindi naisayos ang mga proyekto na dapat pumuprotekta sa mga nangangailangan nito. Nagmumukha tuloy isa malaking theatrics ang lahat para lang makahanap ng pagsisihan nila at doon i-pin down lahat ng kagaguhan nila tas makakatakas yung may mga sala talaga.
Hindi talaga matatapos ang mga protesta, ang panawagan, at ang gigil at galit ng taumbayan hanggang makulong silang lahat.

JADE's debut album, 'That's Showbiz Baby!', is really one of my favorite releases this year as she has offered us a pop cabaret of songs ranging from dance-pop, electropop, funk, disco, synth-pop, and many more as a way of showing the listeners her range in terms of different genres mostly in pop and of course in expressing what she feels. My favorites were Angel of My Dreams, Unconditional, Natural at Disaster, Silent Disco, and, of course, this song.
This song was the one that really stuck in my head (and my heart, too), as it was a love song for her younger self. The song expresses vulnerability and longing for her partner, yet at the same time, a reminder of her worth in the relationship. This song is relatable in a way, as I was listening to this when I found out some personal stuff, which really did hurt at first. This song, in a way, healed me in that situation as it helped me cope and understand the need to love myself first. What makes it perfect is the interpolation of her younger singing voice into the cover of "Stop! In The Name of Love" by the Supremes, as a nod to her musical idol, Diana Ross.
I created the fan art into two parts based on her music video: when JADE and her younger self (represented by her niece) lie on the floor, and when the pair is about to get ready for the main stage, wearing the angel outfit. It was supposed to be posted last month, but it was hard to do a watercolor portrait of four faces.
