This Pride month, we should not ignore the LGBTQIA+ community still facing daily discrimination and healthcare disparities to the point of hate crime and violence targeting the vulnerable. True pride means pushing for legal protections and demanding safe spaces in our schools and workplaces.
Letโs turn our solidarity into support. Remember who we are, and fight for who we deserve to beโ together. Celebration of pride is our joy, but activism is our armor. Maki-baka! Beki naman! ๐ณ๏ธโ๐โจ

Genre: Animation, Adventure
Director: Nathan Greno
Year Released: 2026
You can never really tell how others will use the trust you give them. Some will take the keys only to lock us out and burn the fortress from the inside, while some will use them to unlock doors to a sanctuary we never knew we could share.
To me, thatโs exactly what Nathan Grenoโs new Netflix movie, Swapped, is all about. The story follows Ollie and Ivyโa Pookoo and a Javan who are basically sworn enemies because of a generational conflict over a food source. After an accident with a magical tree pod forces them to swap bodies, they have to team up to survive. As they journey through the valley, they end up seeing the world through each other's eyes and learn something along the way.
I think the movie really shined because of its imaginative world and stunning animation. Instead of favoring the hyperrealistic look a lot of animated movies use lately, it went for a super vibrant, classic fictional vibe. The characters, although likely based on real animals, did not exist in the real world, and the setting itself was a fully realized custom ecosystem, which I think was a perfect playground for this high-fantasy adventure.
Personally, what I loved most was how much the film resonated with the general audienceโs experiences and emotions. Even with all the action, the film was still able to beautifully deliver its core, which was about empathy and trying to understand where someone else is coming from on different points of view. Itโs a warm, family-friendly experience that hits home in ways I wasnโt expecting.
On the downside, I felt the soundtrack was a bit underwhelming. In an adventure like this, you really expect the score to heighten the tension during the big moments, but it just didnโt hit the mark. Some of the most pivotal scenes lacked that extra punch, and I couldn't help but feel they would have resonated much more deeply if the music had been more evocative and better tailored to the film's energy.
Overall, Swapped was a visually stunning and emotionally satisfying film. It can be a great movie to watch if youโre looking for a feel-good breather and a quick getaway from the tiring academics and heavy workloads you have.
