Sa ika-43 taon mula nang matatag ito, muling igigiit ng Araling Pangkaunlaran ang lagi nitong paninindigan: ang kaunlaran ay dapat sumandig sa interes ng masa. Sa harap ng lumalalang inhustisya at pandarambong dala ng pasismo at katiwalian, kapit-bisig na babaguhin ng masang Pilipino ang bulok na sistema tungo sa tunay na panlipunang pagbabago.

Handog ng Development Studies Society ang taunang Development Studies Week 2025 na may temang: “𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐌𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐍: 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐠”. Bilang mga mag-aaral ng kaunlaran, tungkulin nating kritikal na suriin ang ating lipunan, kuwestiyunin ang mga atrasadong pamantayan ng kaunlaran, at isulong ang kontra-gahum na pagbabago. Hinahamon tayo na mamulat sa mga reyalidad ng ating lipunan at makiisa sa masang Pilipino sa pagpapanday ng lipunang malaya sa katiwalian at pandarambong.
