On this day, 16.05.2007; A team of Filipino women, Noelle Wenceslao, Carina Dayondon, and Janet Belarmino, made history by becoming the first Filipinas to summit Mt Everest (8,848.86 m).

Their achievement was even more remarkable as they completed a Everest traverse, ascending from the North Side in Tibet/China and descending via the South Side in Nepal.
