Viral ngayon sa social media ang News5 cameraman na si Mac Ortiz matapos nitong mag-live report patungkol sa pananalasa ng Bagyong sa Legazpi City, Albay.

Sa isang post ng TV5 news anchor na si Gretchen Ho, pinuri niya si Mac.

“Where else do you see a cameraman reporting?! Proud of our multi-talented Mark Andrew Ortiz! He can shoot, photograph, fly a drone, edit stories, and also report?! Kasamahan namin ’to sa West Philippine Sea! Tunay na matapang 🫡,” saad ni Gretchen.

“Sobrang tapang at handang sumugod sa kahit saan na hindi nararattle para magshoot, video edit, palipad ng drone, and mag setup ng livepoint. Pero first time ni Mack-Mack mag actual live report! Ilan kaya sa atin ang kaya iyan?” wika naman ng isa pang TV5 news anchor na si Ed Lingao.

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) is now accepting online applications for Academic Year 2026–2027.

The online application period runs from today, November 10, until December 31, 2025.

As of now, only PUP Sta. Mesa, the Open University System (OUS) undergraduate programs, and the Institute of Technology (ITECH) are open for applicants.

Applicants are advised to prepare a 2×2-inch colored photo with a name tag and their Grade 11 report card before applying online.

She stands tall and silent on the eastern edge of Luzon — the Sierra Madre, our country’s longest mountain range and the first to face the storms that rage from the Pacific. While we sleep safely in our homes, she takes the full force of every typhoon, breaking the winds and catching the rains before they reach us.

Her forests breathe life into the air we inhale. Her rivers flow into our fields, feeding our farms and our families. Her slopes cradle countless species of plants and animals found nowhere else in the world. She is our living shield — the guardian we often forget to thank.

Yet, beneath her green cloak lies pain. Illegal logging, mining, and reckless destruction have left deep scars on her once-untouched heart. Still, she endures — standing firm, holding back the storms for us.

If there’s any mountain that deserves our love, protection, and respect — it’s her. The Sierra Madre has always been there for us. It’s time we stand for her, too.
