From July 29–31, 2026, more than a hundred educators, researchers, policymakers, students, and Global Citizenship Education (GCED) advocates gathered at Palawan State University for the 3rd GCC International Research Conference on Global Citizenship Education, united by the theme:

Organized by the GCED Cooperation Centre–Philippines (GCC Philippines) of the Philippine Normal University, in partnership with Palawan State University, UNESCO APCEIU, and the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines, the conference served as a platform for meaningful dialogue, research exchange, policy discussions, and collaboration on advancing GCED and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

Over three days, participants engaged in keynote and plenary sessions, policy workshops, panel discussions, and research presentations that explored innovative approaches to peace education, teacher development, youth engagement, sustainability, and transformative learning. Research presentations showcased diverse perspectives and innovative practices in Global Citizenship Education and Education for Sustainable Development, while policy briefs developed through collaborative Policy Labs offered actionable recommendations to support the mainstreaming of GCED across higher education.

Together, we continue building a more peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable future through education. 🌍💙

The policy workshops of the 3rd GCC International Research Conference on Global Citizenship Education (IRCON GCED 2026) were the workshop moderators who steered each session with purpose and direction.

Across five parallel workshops, they guided participants through structured discussions on key GCED priority areas—facilitating dialogue, encouraging diverse perspectives, and fostering collaborative exchange among institutions and regions.

These engagements culminated in the development and presentation of policy briefs, reflecting collective insights and actionable recommendations for advancing Global Citizenship Education in the Philippines.
