Vice Mayor Felimon Abelita III
——-
A late post—yet let this be contribution to a legacy that endures.
- from an Ilongga-Masbateña artist.
These portraits of the Mayors and Vice Mayors of Balud, Masbate were not simply painted… they were rebuilt. From restructured canvas surfaces to the final layers of realism, each piece was created fully from scratch—honoring not just likeness, but leadership, service, and memory.
One of the real challenges of a painter lies in bringing life to history—working from old, often vague photographic references, and transforming them into something vivid, present, and enduring.
In every stroke lives a story of a town, its people, and those who carried its name forward.
This is what legacy looks like when preserved in paint.
Not just for today—but for generations to remember.

Not just a portrait… but a story that lives beyond time.
Every brushstroke is crafted to capture not only how you look—but who you are, what you’ve lived, and what you carry within.
Turn your memories into a timeless masterpiece.

World Art Dubai has announced the rescheduling of its upcoming edition to 19–22 November 2026, to be held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City.
The revised dates align the show with more favorable travel and market conditions, while supporting its strategic evolution into a larger festival-style art experience.
The November edition will enable expanded indoor–outdoor activations, enhance international participation, and create stronger commercial and engagement opportunities for artists and galleries.
This move also reinforces Dubai and the UAE’s position as a key regional hub for cultural events and the creative economy.

Dayang Alunsina
Oil on canvas
80x60cm
This painting depicts Dayang Alunsina, the revered goddess of the eastern skies in Visayan mythology, Panay Island.
Inspired by the artist’s daughter as the muse, the work transforms a real presence into a mythic embodiment of heritage and divinity. She is draped in an earth-toned patadyong, a traditional Visayan handwoven textile with plaid patterns worn in everyday and ceremonial life, grounding the goddess in living cultural tradition. Adorned with vibrant beadwork symbolizing ancestry and wisdom, her upward gaze evokes quiet strength and spiritual awareness, bridging personal lineage with the enduring mythology of the Visayan people.

From the Tides of Home:
“The Lapay Wings”
A tribute to the Lapay Bantigue Dance of Masbate City — a traditional dance inspired by the graceful movements of the lapay (heron) along the shores of Bantigue Island. Observing the bird’s light steps and sweeping wings, fishermen transformed these movements into a dance that has become a proud symbol of Masbateño heritage.
This piece honors that living tradition, with one of my daughter’s closest friends as the muse, embodying the grace, spirit, and freedom of the Lapay in flight.
