ACCOMPLISHMENT OF VP DUTERTE AS DEPED SECRETARY

✅. MATATAG CURRICULUM
• This project was spearheaded by VP duterte to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the Philippines; highlighting the crucial role of every teachers in the learning process of every students by utilizing the essential beliefs and influence of every teachers

✅. CATCH-UP FRIDAY
• This is to improve the capability of every child to read and comprehend text materials.

✅. OVERTIME PAY FOR TEACHERS
• A long overdue call by teachers which was addressed by VP Sara Duterte to compensate the teacher’s labor beyond their regular working period. This was implemented through VP Sara Duterte’s Department Order No. 002 series of 2024.

✅. REMOVAL OF ADMIN TASK FOR TEACHERS
• Implemented during VP Duterte’s stint as DepEd Secretary to lessen the workload of every teacher and let them focus and improve their mode of instruction.

✅. 30-DAY STRAIGHT BREAK WITHOUT WORK FOR TEACHERS
• This is a recognition of every teacher’s essential role in the learning process of every student. As such, instructors are given a debriefing period to promote and protect their well-being, and to prepare them for the incoming school year.

✅. ADDITIONAL TEACHER’S ALLOWANCE
• law has been signed to increase the annual teaching allowance for public school teachers from P5,000 to P10,000, starting in the 2025-2026 school year. This is the largest increase to date.

✅. HEALTH INSURANCE FOR TEACHERS AND PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE
• Provided by VP Duterte to every teacher in order to assist them defray the cost of their hospitalization.

✅. PANSARAP PROGRAM
• This is a nutritional Supplementation program which aims to provide every learner in the country who are identified as “severely wasted” students with a nutritious bread within 120 days to ensure adequate and sustainable nutritional support for the Children.

✅. LAST MILE SCHOOLS PROGRAM
• This is a mode of giving inclusive education to rural areas in the country. Through this program, makeshift classrooms are transformed to standard ones, and ownership of government over properties where schools are built are clearly defined so as to avoid impediments in the construction and development of school buildings.

✅. BUILT 3,637 CLASSROOMS IN 2023
• This is part of the effort to address the scarcity of learning facility in basic education.

✅ INSURED SCHOOL BUILDINGS
• Under VP Duterte’s Leadership, 132,000 public school buildings were given fire insurance to strengthen country’s educational infrastructure resilience.

✅. REPAIRED 4,542 SCHOOLS NATIONWIDE
• Provide a conducive learning environment for students in areas which were struck by calamities and other fortuitous events.

✅. GIVEN 4,067 E-LEARNING CARTS
• Distribution of gadgets to students and teachers as part of VP Sara’s goal of addressing the scarcity of learning facilities. In this way, education may not be impeded despite the lack of classrooms and textbooks.

✅. FREE WIFI FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS
• VP Duterte Partnered with the private sector to improve connectivity of every Public School. With this project, it is projected that all of the schools will have internet connection by the end of 2028.

✅CENTRALIZED REPORTING SYSTEM
• Ensures a safe and conducive learning environment for every learner. This is mechanism where the students may report violations of their rights in learning environment.

✅. NATIONAL LEARNING CAMP
• Engages students with a camp-like atmosphere activities to improve their social, emotional, physical, and mental growth.

✅. E-LEARNING IMPLEMENTATION
• Through this project, VP sara ensured that every public school is capacitated to conduct distant learning activity to continue the learning process of every student despite the occurrence or existence of natural impediments such as but not limited to bad weather conditions and national health emergency situations.

✅. SHS PROGRAM REVIEW
• VP Sara Duterte made an SHS-National Task Force to review the current SHS curriculum and ensure that it is relevant, consistent, and responsive to the needs of the learners and stakeholders.

✅. TREE-PLANTING PROGRAM (“DEPED’S 236,000 TREES- A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR THE CHILDREN”)
• Simultaneous tree-planting activity in all public schools was conducted during VP Sara’s Stint as DepEd Secretary to promote environmental preservation and ensure a clean and green environment for Filipino children and future generations.
