Filipino culture isn't just something we inheritโ€”it's something we actively keep alive. ๐ŸŒŽโœจ

At the 2026 Filipino Diaspora Summit, NCCA Chairman Dr. Eric B. Zerrudo reminds us that keeping Filipino culture alive means ensuring that future generations, wherever they may be, continue to know where they come from and who they are.

For Dr. Eric B. Zerrudo, Chairperson of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), preserving Filipino culture is not simply about remembering the pastโ€”it is about ensuring that future generations remain connected to their heritage and identity.

He emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for overseas Filipinos to experience, learn, and engage with Philippine culture through programs, cultural exchanges, and heritage initiatives that strengthen their connection to the homeland.

As Filipino communities continue to grow across the globe, cultural preservation remains a shared responsibility in keeping the nation's stories, traditions, and values alive for generations to come.

Sentro Rizal joins millions of Filipinos across the globe in celebrating the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence.

On June 12, 1898, our ancestors proudly proclaimed our sovereignty to the world. But our true independence is older than any declarationโ€”it is deeply rooted in our ancestral lands, woven into our traditional textiles, and echoed in our indigenous epics. Today, that same unyielding spirit lives on in every corner of the world where the global Filipino diaspora makes its mark.

Our cultural identity is our greatest armor and inheritance. Through the rhythm of our languages, the brilliance of our likha (artistic creations), and the enduring power of bayanihan, we keep the flame of freedom burning bright worldwide. Wherever we gather to remember who we are, the heartbeat of the nation thrives.

Let us carry our heritage with deep pride, protect the memory of our ancestors, and weave a vibrant future together.

Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan sa bawat Pilipino sa buong mundo! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

A NAME WON BY HISTORY
Our shared ๐˜๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฑ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ Identity

Today, the map of the Philippines is written across every time zone. In an age shaped by deep migration and global movement, our people have crossed vast oceans to anchor our culture in every corner of the earth. Yet, even as public discourse occasionally turns inwardโ€”attempting to dissect the rich, sprawling tapestry of who we are into blood percentages and biological fractionsโ€”our living heritage refuses to be confined by numbers.

As we celebrate Independence Day tomorrow, let us all be reminded that being a Filipino was never just about blood. It was a victory - a commitment to a nation.

Our greatness on the world stage is not inherited through a biological formula. It is lived. It is found in our intangible heritage, our unwavering resilience, our artistic soul, and the distinct warmth we carry wherever we anchor ourselves in the world.

Whether born on the soil of the motherland or raised within our vast global diaspora, we are not fragments of a culture. We are the culture bearers of a living legacyโ€”whole, interconnected, and proudly Filipino.
