✍️The Story of a Lady Programmer

Pinili ko ang Computer Science ng dahil lang sa uniporme, slacks kasi, ayaw kong mag’skirt HAHAHA

Ang babaw db? Tapos after a month, pinalitan din ng skirt. Para akong maiiyak nun. Gusto kong mag'quit na lang🤧🥺

Ganito kasi...

When I was about to enter college, my 1st choice was Medicine, 2nd was Accountancy. Computer Science was not at all at my choices.

But considering the financial status of my parents and my guardian, hindi kakayanin to pursue those choices of mine.

I decided to enroll in the only University in our Province kahit na wala doon ang kursong gusto ko😪

It was a complete struggle kasi nga hindi ko gusto yung kurso.

Ang dami-dami pang dapat aralin.

At ang broad ng Computer Science, maraming areas.

Pero no choice, kailangan kong makatapos so I can pursue my dream course.

Until another semester came, may programming na subject.

Struggle talaga noong una kasi no background knowledge ako or whatsoever.

Dami pang programming languages.

And each programming language has its own syntax.

Kailangan mo munang ma-master yun para tuloy-tuloy ang coding.

Tapos hindi ka pa maka-practice kasi wala pa kaming laptop or PC sa bahay noon.

Aaminin ko hindi talaga madali sa umpisa pero once nakuha mo na paano gawin, nagiging ok na.

That's when the time na naexcite na ako pumasok. Hindi na parang "buhay na patay" na pumapasok lang pero wala sa saril i😂🤣

May thrill kasi sa programming so, hindi talaga boring.

Iba yung sense of fulfillment kapag naso-solve mo yung errors sa code and the program is running well.

Pero hindi "running well" na gaya ng ginawa ng jowa mo sayo HAHAHA

And how those code can make a program that is very useful to use.

Talagang, happiness at its finest.

Kaya sineryoso ko na talaga sya hanggang sa ako ay maka’graduate🎓

And mas lalo akong nainspire nung ang award na “Computer Programmer of the Year” ay napunta sa akin kahit hindi ko alam kung bakit😆

Nakareceive pa ako ng offer na magturo agad days before the graduation.

Tinanggap ko, may sahod na pero hindi ako masaya.

So, I pursue another career path, pero tama yata ang kasabihan na:

“What God has destined for you will be for you”😇🤗

Binalik nya talaga ako sa teaching, but this time I was assigned programming subjects to teach.

It opens opportunities for me. From being a thesis adviser, speaker and was even hired to develop a program where I am being paid an extra.

But most importantly, It gives way to inspire my students develop a love for programming kasi malaki talaga demand as long as you are skilled.

At minsan, yung mga extra pa na yun eh mas malaki pa sa sahod ko🤑💱

Kaya naging mas ganado ako to improve my skills and share my expertise.

Kaya, kung naka-abot ka sa part na ito, SALAMAT😚😇

Sana ay na-inspired ka na hindi lahat ng "hindi mo gusto" nung umpisa ay hindi mo talaga magugustuhan.

Minsan, kailangan mo subukan para malaman na yun pala ay para sa'yo🤗👌

Gusto kong I’share yung nalalaman ko after years of teaching and experience📚

Kasi sa programming, may pera talaga. Kahit na sa bahay ka lang at naka’pajama.

Wala pang boss na tawag ng tawag kaya halos wala ka ng time magka-jowa at makapag-asawa😆🤭😂

Hindi pa ako ka’level ni Bill Gates ng Microsoft, Steve Jobs ng Apple at Elon Musk ng SpaceX at Tesla pero I know how it feels to start from zero knowledge at nagsimula na hindi talaga techie (hindi ko pa nga gusto kurso ko eh), kaya alam ko how to grow from Zero to Hero sa aspeto ng coding.
