We've been seeing a lot of Lomography's LomoChrome Metropolis XR film stock lately. Despite the fact that its wrapped in bright af neon green, the actual color palette of this film is the opposite. And in our experience, there's definitely some learning curve with this film stock 🥴

Houston, we have a problem 👩‍🚀 Bc in this alternate universe 💫, seems like film photographer, , got it all figured out. 10/10, sino ka diyan‼️😭

Inside scoop >> she exposed these using ISO 200 😌 She recommends to shoot it @ bright / well-lit locations to get better shots. And she also prefers the color profile of the medium format version vs the 35mm!

LomoChrome Metropolis XR has an extended ISO range of 100-400 and is know for its desaturated look and muted tones. This film actually changes in different lighting. When its shot in bright and broad daylight, the desaturated and contrasty quality will appear. But in a darker setting, it shows its hazier and softer side. In our experience, its best and safest to shoot this at brighter locations to save that film money 🫠🕊️

2022 WRAPPED: COFFEE BEANS! And for your mandatory Monday coffee, we're here to confess one of our (many) addictions 🥴 All accumulated in 2022 from LOCALLY sourced and produced farms in the Ph (and some Thailand beans from our close friend 🤗)

Note: We grind our beans ourselves, so taste is highly preferential and will depend on roast date, grinder, and brewer. For your reference, we mostly drink lattes, pour-over, moka pot, and french.

And for our next experiment, we shot side-by-side the *new* Fujifilm C200 and Kodak Gold 200!👩‍🔬🧪 Here's our take on this controversy: Is the *new* Fujifilm C200 just a rebranded Kodak Gold 200? 🤔

Note: This was shot few hours before the sunset and the sky was particularly warm hued at that time. We also used a pns camera so we could compare equally. So results may vary!

ANYWAY both performed as expected and still a good beginner friendly film to start with! For us, Fuji's C200 classic feature is still there: cooler tone and greens are still 👌🏼 excellent. You can def see it on the trees (ref: second pic). Landscape shots are a lot punchier and realistic compared to Kodak Gold. But for portraits, we recommend checking Kodak Gold. It can capture a more 💯 accurate skin tone and color, it doesn't easily wash you out, esp in different lighting conditions.

OUR VERDICT: With a 200 box speed and the continual price hike w film, we say pick the cheapest one! 💰 At a 200 speed rate, retaining highlight details are usually good but the threshold for shadows and underexposure are quite limited. Either way you'll still have to mind your exposure with both 😤 So get the one that doesn't hurt your Gcash balance 😵‍💫💀

Look how far we've come 😣 This is one of our first few good rolls of developing and scanning. This was during the pandemic, shot in the province, raw and unedited. I guess a little faith goes a long way 🍀🌙
