Today, May 29, 2026, the Consolanian community gathered at the Our Lady of Consolacion Chapel for a simple yet solemn celebration of faith and devotion through the annual Flores de Maria.

Held at 8:00 in the morning, the celebration honored the Blessed Virgin Mary through prayers, hymns, and the traditional flower offering ceremony participated in by faculty, staff, and devotees.

The Holy Mass was celebrated by Father Yovan Koten together with concelebrant Father โ€œBillโ€ Chatchai Nilkhet. The chapel was filled with a spirit of reverence as members of the community offered flowers before the image of Mary as a symbol of love, gratitude, and devotion.

Flores de Maria has long been part of Filipino Catholic tradition, especially during the month of May, which is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The celebration traces its roots to centuries-old practices of offering flowers and prayers as acts of honor and thanksgiving to Mary. Through the years, it has remained a meaningful expression of faith among Filipino communities, reminding devotees of humility, purity, and unwavering devotion.

Unlike previous years, the celebration did not include a sagala in consideration of the different crises currently being faced by the country. Despite the absence of grand festivities, the event remained deeply meaningful as it centered on solemn veneration and spiritual reflection rather than extravagant celebration.

The simplicity of the gathering highlighted the true essence of Flores de Maria โ€” not the grandeur of the occasion, but the sincere faith and devotion of the people honoring the Blessed Mother. Through quiet prayers and flower offerings, the community reflected on the importance of remaining grounded in faith amid present challenges.

The occasion also coincided with the fifth anniversary of the dedication of the Our Lady of Consolacion Chapel. For five years, the chapel has continued to serve as a sacred space for worship, reflection, and unity within the Consolanian community.

Through todayโ€™s Flores de Maria celebration and the chapelโ€™s fifth dedication anniversary, the community was reminded that even in simple and modest observances, faith, hope, and devotion continue to flourish.
