What an unforgettable 5-week journey!
We are grateful to everyone who became part of our Ready for Life: A Community-Based Summer Program. Over the past weeks, our learners explored hands-on community-based activities that encouraged independence, creativity, participation, responsibility, communication, and everyday life skills. ๐
From grocery shopping and taho making to painting, flower arrangement, and shoe care and cleaning, each activity created opportunities for learning, growth, confidence-building, and shared experiences within the community.
To our learners, families, staff, and community partners โ thank you for your trust, support, and participation throughout the program. Seeing our learners explore, participate, and enjoy each activity truly made this experience special.

During the workshop, learners were introduced to the basics of shoe care and cleaning as they explored proper cleaning techniques, used different materials and tools, and learned the importance of responsibility and proper care for personal belongings. From brushing and scrubbing to carefully handling each item, the activity encouraged independence, focus, patience, and attention to detail.

Together with their mothers, guardians, and loved ones, our learners explored the basics of flower arrangement through a guided hands-on activity that encouraged creativity, patience, attention to detail, and self-expression.
As part of our commitment to supporting not only our learners but also their families, the workshop created meaningful opportunities for bonding and shared experiences between children and their loved ones. Held in celebration of Motherโs Day, the activity honored the love, care, and support of the amazing moms and mother figures in our learnersโ lives. ๐

Our learners had the opportunity to engage in a real-life, hands-on experienceโfrom preparing taho ingredients and taking customer orders to serving taho and handling payment and change. Through this activity, they practiced responsibility, social interaction, communication, and functional skills while building independence and confidence in a fun and engaging environment.
