While I write you in my pajamas from the comfort of our beautiful home in Makati - which you built for me - you’re spending your birthday with the rice farmers, the palay and rice traders in Leyte, working nearly 24/7 harvesting Palay and milling Renucci Rice in our rice processing complex in Alangalang. No fanfare, no French wine, no gastronomique meals to celebrate - just pansit, gulay at isda, sliced white bread and the Pinoy sweet spaghetti and deep dish pizza that cause you gastric distress😅

Only you. Nobody else would have left country, father, mother, sisters, children in France and Italy - to follow me to Alangalang (where I am also a foreigner). Only you would have allowed me to give up everything that we owned to follow Him to Leyte.

And oh my goodness - the unending miracles, the rivers of living water that have flown through us both. Today I celebrate the fruit of the Spirit that you have borne - that which has dramatically transformed Alangalang and Leyte and is slowly, slowly making inroads in the rice industry of this nation. Never mind the trials, the tribulations, the suffering. I know that He has overcome this world.
