DS .x. Residence V Landscape

Plain and simple. The outdoor private garden becomes an extension of the indoor area, providing functional and recrational space, softened by low-maintenance lush planting. A play of concrete, gravel, lawn, and wood tiles provide texture and differentiation to the outdoor space.

The challenge of designing spaces for students to allow for communal and individual learning experience inspired us to create modular seating that are movable and expandable, allowing for varied experience of the space. The use of existing terrain to generate change in levels, provide an assembly area for students, while reducing the temperature of the area. Gravel and lawn patches along paved walkways enable water to percolate reducing the impact of water runoff.
