Our family history goes beyond the names and dates we find in our tree. It’s about what makes us who we are. It’s about people with whom we can form deep connections. It’s about people who lived and breathed and suffered and triumphed. It’s about roots and branches and leaves and entire forests. It’s about all of us.

Our ancestors are more connected to us more than we think, they may play an important role in what we are handed down from family member to family member, both the good and the not so great. For most of us, many of our ancestors also encountered hasrdships and emotional trauma that never get resolved before they died and a result were passed down from generation to generation, and these patterns can often feel like a curse. From a spiritual standpoint any unresolved trauma in our ancestral family line creates energetic patterns that in turn create roadblocks and patterns in our lives today, often times stopping our connection to joy, prosperity, our own authentic power, and understanding of why we are here. Many of us already have a feeling, or may suspect, or can even pinpoint certain patterns, issues and concerns that have been handed down to their family line, often for generations.⠀

Emotional trauma can be passed down from one generation to the next. Trauma can leave a chemical mark on a person's genes, which can be passed down to future generations. This mark can cause a genetic mutation, but it does alter the mechanism by which the gene is expressed. This alteration is called Epigenetic.⠀

According to Dr Chris Mason of Weill Cornell Medicine, epigenetics, in simple terms, is the study of the biological control, mechanism of DNA-- the light switches that turns genes on or off. What does that mean? In essence: epigenetics control how or why your genes are expressed.⠀

The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people wrongly overestimate their knowledge or ability in a specific area. This tends to occur because a lack of self-awareness prevents them from accurately assessing their own skills.

Do I have the Dunning-Kruger effect?
Ask yourself: Have you ever heard similar criticisms from different people in your life and ignored or discounted them? You may have experienced the Dunning-Kruger effect. Take a look at those areas in your life where you feel 100 percent confident. Acknowledge the possibility that you might not always be right, and you might need to acquire knowledge or practice more.

How do you fix the Dunning-Kruger effect?
Question what you know and pay attention to those who have different viewpoints. Seek feedback from people you can trust who you know are highly skilled in your area of interest. Be open to constructive criticism and resist the impulse to become defensive. Don’t pretend to know something you don’t. Make it a priority to continue learning and growing. AWARENESS is the key.

Start with quantified "Self-logging" .

Write down what you think you know about yourself and everything you unconsciously know about your true self. Writing about life experiences improves our physical and mental health. If you collect enough data about yourself, you can make improvements based on that information.
