โœ๏ธ WHEN ARE YOU LATE FOR MASS? THE ANSWER MANY DONโ€™T WANT TO HEAR ๐Ÿ˜ณ
___________________
โ€œI came just after it startedโ€ฆโ€
โ€œI arrived before the readingsโ€ฆโ€
โ€œAt least I was there before Communionโ€ฆโ€

These are common explanations.

But here is the uncomfortable question:

๐Ÿ‘‰ When does Mass really beginโ€ฆ and when are you actually late?

Because this is not just about time.

๐Ÿ‘‰ It is about encounter, reverence, and readiness.

โœ๏ธ 1. MASS DOES NOT BEGIN WHEN YOU ARRIVEโ€ฆ IT BEGINS WHEN THE CHURCH BEGINS

The Church already tells you the time.

It is announced.
It is written.
It is known.

So Mass does not begin:

๐Ÿ‘‰ when you walk in
๐Ÿ‘‰ when you feel ready

It begins:

๐Ÿ‘‰ at the appointed time.

And youโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘‰ are expected to be there before it begins.

โœ๏ธ 2. BEFORE THE FIRST WORDโ€ฆ THERE IS A SACRED PREPARATION

There is something many people ignore:

๐Ÿ‘‰ the time before Mass starts.

That time is not empty.

It is where you:

recollect your mind

present your intentions

enter silence

prepare your soul

Even the priest prepares.

There are prayers said quietly.

There is a gathering of intention.

So if you arrive when everything has already startedโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘‰ you have already missed something real.

โœ๏ธ 3. YOU ARE NOT COMING TO AN EVENTโ€ฆ YOU ARE JOINING A SACRIFICE

The Mass is not a show.

It is not something you drop into halfway.

๐Ÿ‘‰ It is a sacrifice.

And every Catholic is not just watching.

๐Ÿ‘‰ You are offering with the priest.

So if you come lateโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘‰ you are not fully entering what is being offered.

โœ๏ธ 4. CHRIST IS ALREADY THEREโ€ฆ WAITING

Here is a truth many forget:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Christ is already present before Mass begins.

He is not arriving when you arrive.

So when you delayโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘‰ it is not just lateness.

๐Ÿ‘‰ it is arriving after the encounter has already begun.

โœ๏ธ 5. THE TRUTH ABOUT โ€œJUST A FEW MINUTESโ€

Many say:

๐Ÿ‘‰ โ€œIt was only a few minutes.โ€

But those minutes may include:

the opening sign of the Cross

the penitential act

the collect

These are not introductions.

๐Ÿ‘‰ They are part of the Mass.

So missing them is not nothing.

๐Ÿ‘‰ It is missing part of the prayer of the Church.

โœ๏ธ 6. WHAT ABOUT THE OLD TEACHING ABOUT ANGELS?

Many were taught as children:

๐Ÿ‘‰ that angels are presentโ€ฆ
๐Ÿ‘‰ that they โ€œrecordโ€ those present from the beginning

Whether understood literally or spirituallyโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘‰ the truth behind it is clear:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Heaven takes worship seriously.

The idea teaches:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Be present from the beginning.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Do not treat sacred time casually.

โœ๏ธ 7. THE HARD TRUTH

There is no exact โ€œminuteโ€ that defines lateness in a legalistic way.

But spiritually:

๐Ÿ‘‰ if you are not there at the beginningโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘‰ you are late.

Not because God rejects you.

๐Ÿ‘‰ but because you have not fully entered the offering.

๐Ÿ‘‰ If you would not arrive late to meet someone importantโ€ฆ
๐Ÿ‘‰ why arrive late to meet God?

โœ๏ธ SO WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

Arrive early.

Sit in silence.

Prepare your heart.

Say your own prayer before Mass begins.

Because those quiet momentsโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘‰ are where your offering begins.

โœ๏ธ NEXT SUNDAYโ€ฆ TRY THIS

Be in your seat before the first word is spoken.

Look at the altar.

And say:

๐Ÿ‘‰ โ€œLord, I am here.โ€

Because Mass is not something you join halfway.

๐Ÿ‘‰ It is something you enter from the beginning.

February 2, 2026 | Kafiestan nang Nuestra Seรฑora De Gracia

As we celebrate the Feast day of Nuestra Seรฑora De Gracia, we dedicate our groupโ€™s rendition of Stella Maris by Fr. Silvino Borres Jr., SJ and Fr. Manoling Francisco, SJ, arranged by John Michael Canlas, and translated by Ron Yu. Through our song, we hope to inspire everyone to be like Mary, faithful, chaste, and obedient to Godโ€™s will. May we all be like stars that shine so brightly, guiding everyone closer to God.

Emmanuel by Bukas Palad

Emmanuel โ€” God is with us. A reminder that in every fear, struggle, and quiet moment, we are never alone. ๐Ÿ™โœจ

Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him โ€œEmmanuel.โ€

Matthew 1:23

With this verse as our inspiration, the MPC gathered after mass and captured images not just with ordinary poses but using sign language to convey the words given by the Angel to Mary for the coming of Christ our Savior.

Christmas is not only the season of giving, but also a season of waiting and remembering how God gave us his only begotten son. As we wait, we should not be idling and stand up to give love to each other, conveying Godโ€™s love for all of us.

May the season of Christmas give light to those in need of love and patience. Once again, Merry Christmas from Mabalacat Parish Choir!

CAROLING | 2025 ๐Ÿ’ซ

This season, we went from house to houseโ€”not just to sing, but to share hope. Every melody offered, every harmony sung, became a prayer of love and a bridge of kindness for others.

Through our caroling, we used our voices as instruments of graceโ€”connecting hearts, spreading joy, and gathering blessings meant to be shared with those in need this Christmas. What began as simple songs turned into meaningful acts of service, guided by faith and compassion.

To everyone who opened their doors, listened, and shared their generosityโ€”thank you for being part of this mission. Your kindness allows us to extend Godโ€™s love beyond music and into the lives of others.

From the Mabalacat Parish Choir of Our Lady of Grace Parish, may the joy we shared return to you a thousandfold, because Christmas is best celebrated when love is shared. โœจ

Sharing our blessings to 60 families ๐Ÿฅน โ€”Aiming for something greater to make someone's day even brighter.

The greatest gifts are not always under our Christmas trees, but in the hearts of those people who help with love and compassion. The act of giving is timeless, it comes with no boundaries because it's not how we just give, it's how we serve with joy in our heartsโ€” reaching them with an open palm with hope and wisdom.

Using each voice as a way to lead, connect, and embrace God's grace. In our hearts, the most beautiful gifts that we have received are the smiles in your faces, that is the prize we are beyond grateful to witness.

May God bless us all as we make our way towards a new yearโ€” we pray that all of us will have a graceful and joyful holiday season! Merry Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ ๐ŸŽ
