Mabalacat City College NSTP Unites for Disaster Preparedness: "The Big One" Won't Catch Us Off Guard!
Mabalacat City College (MCC) is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and preparedness of its community in the face of potential calamities. In a powerful display of civic duty and community spirit, the NSTP (National Service Training Program) instructors and their dedicated students have spearheaded a crucial course activity focused on disaster readiness, particularly for earthquakes. This initiative comes as a direct response to the urgent call for increased preparedness, echoing the sentiment that while we never welcome disaster, being ready is our best defense.
The activity, which has been making waves across the campus, aims to equip students with essential knowledge and practical skills that could prove life-saving during an earthquake. From theoretical sessions to hands-on drills, the program is designed to transform awareness into actionable responses.
"We cannot afford to be complacent," stated one of the lead NSTP instructors. "While we hope 'The Big One' never arrives, our responsibility is to ensure that our students and, by extension, their families and communities, are as prepared as possible. This is one of a million ways to build that resilience."
Students have actively participated in various modules, including:
โข Earthquake Safety Protocols: Learning the "Drop, Cover, and
Hold On" technique and identifying safe zones.
โข Emergency Kit Assembly: Understanding the critical items
needed for a survival kit.
โข First Aid Basics: Essential skills to provide immediate assistance
during emergencies.
โข Evacuation Procedures: Practicing organized and safe
movement during a crisis.
The enthusiasm and commitment shown by the NSTP students have been truly inspiring. Many shared how the activity has opened their eyes to the importance of preparedness, not just for themselves but for their loved ones.
"Before this, I honestly didn't think much about what to do during an earthquake," confessed a first-year NSTP student. "Now, I feel much more confident and have even started putting together an emergency kit at home with my family. It's a real eye-opener."
This impactful initiative by MCC's NSTP department is a testament to the college's commitment to holistic education, extending beyond academic excellence to foster responsible and prepared citizens. It serves as a powerful reminder that collective action and proactive measures are key to building a safer, more resilient community.

Ito po ay para maalis ang agam-agam tungkol sa inilabas na announcement na may bagong design ng school uniform this coming Academic Year 2025-2026. Ito po ay panawagan para sa mga incoming First Year lang poโฆ
โฆ
Sa mga higher years naman (2nd year to 4th year) ay yung dating uniform pa rin po ang gagamitin nyoโฆ kung sakali na masira or liliit na ang uniform nyo, pwede na kayo magpagawa na din ng bagong uniform kung sakali..
Sana po ay maliwanagan na ang lahat at nasagot namin ang tanong ninyoโฆ
Maraming salamat poโฆ
