The Scouts Royale Brotherhood Cebu once again reached out to make a difference through a Life Skills Seminar-Workshop for 27 recovering children in conflict with the law (CICL) at Operation Second Chance, Cebu City — a center that helps young people rebuild their lives.

The training emphasized the importance of mental health, self-awareness, resilience, and self-forgiveness — key components in supporting the continued recovery and successful reintegration of CICLs into society. The seminar-workshop was led by Bro. Ben Ric Castillon, RPm, Bro. Ruel Pilande Jr., and Bro. Pedwin Pacaña from SRB Chi Lambda Chapter, who have been consistently reaching out to CICL centers across Cebu to share their time, knowledge, and compassion.

A huge thank you to all our brothers who continue to live by our three guiding principles and bring hope to those who need it most. Let’s keep doing what we do best — helping others rise again. VIVA SARABA!

SRB Cebu’s Bro. John Paul E. Maunes will lead four young Filipino athletes to the United States from October 25 to November 8, 2025, for the Adaptive Sports Visitor Program organized by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). The delegation will join participants from Serbia, Slovenia, Tunisia, Italy, and Uruguay in a series of activities focused on adaptive sports, leadership development, and cultural exchange.

Bro. JP is known not only in Cebu but across the country for his strong dedication to empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) — not just by championing their rights and welfare, but by helping them discover their strengths and reach their full potential.

Thank you, Bro. JP, for continuing to uphold and spread our guiding principles — serving not only the community but also those who are often unheard, unseen, and underserved.

To strengthen the readiness of its mental health professionals and volunteer members, the SRB Mental Health Division conducted a reorientation on Psychological First Aid (PFA) at the SRB Metro Cebu Council Office in Talamban, Cebu City. The session focused on the fundamental principles of PFA, highlighting its do’s and don’ts, as well as the three key components — Look, Listen, and Link.

The activity reflects SRB’s continuing commitment to promoting mental health awareness and ensuring that its members are always prepared to serve communities in times of need.

𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐒 𝐑𝐎𝐘𝐀𝐋𝐄 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐃 (𝐒𝐑𝐁) 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐒 𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐍 𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔.

The SRB Mental Health Division, under the SRB Metro Cebu Council, dispatched a team to northern Cebu to conduct psychosocial support and stress debriefing sessions for the earthquake victims and first responders affected by the recent earthquake. The initiative forms part of SRB’s continuing advocacy to strengthen community mental health and provide free psychological services to those in need.

Leading the team were Bro. Abelardo “Abby” Banuag, M.A., RPsy, RPm (Clinical Psychologist & Psychometrician); Sis. Princes Ann O. Coraraton, RPm (Registered Psychometrician); and Bro. Ben Ric Castillon, RPm (Registered Psychometrician), together with SRB pledges and volunteer psychologists and psychometricians.

The mission was carried out in partnership with DYHP RMN CEBU and Gasa sa IFM as part of the “Oplan Tabang” relief efforts for the earthquake victims.

We extend our gratitude to DYHP Station Manager Atty. Ruphil F. Bañoc - Straight to the Point and iFM Cebu Manager Brent "Boyki Ifm" E. Pleños for inviting us to be part of this meaningful mission.

The University of the Philippines Cebu (UP Cebu) Fighting Maroons survived an intense fight against the defending champions, the University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors, during the final match of today's Men's Football showdown at the Cebu City Sports Complex.

Tension ran high inside the field as both teams fought fiercely to mark a win in their name. With the final whistle blowing, the match ended in a draw, with both teams scoring 2 points apiece.

Justine Louie Soco, jersey number 3, of the UP Cebu Fighting Maroons was honored as the Man of the Match with his exceptional performance during the game.
