This one is in Tagaytay , where the air is already cooler and the pace is already slower than the city. The brief centered on one idea, a home that feels like an escape the moment you step through the gate, in a place that already feels like an escape.
So the design leans entirely into that. The roofline sits low and wide, holding shadow across the whole facade so the home stays calm and shaded even on a clear day. The spaces underneath open outward rather than closing in, so the cool Tagaytay air can move through rather than being shut out. At night, warm light glows along the roofline and the whole house settles into something quieter.
It is a striking home from the street, but every line on that facade exists for a reason beyond how it looks. The shadow, the openness, the warmth at night all serve one purpose: what it feels like to actually live here.
This is design working in both directions at once. Impressive to look at, and built entirely around how it feels to wake up here, with the fog still sitting in the trees.

LDM kept the existing structure, extended the back portion to add more working space, and designed a complete second floor on top. The result is a professional, modern office that made smart use of what was already standing rather than starting from zero.

Meet Bahia.
A Spanish Colonial Tropical Modern home designed from scratch around one family's vision of what home should feel like.
The terracotta roof that carries the warmth of old Spanish heritage. The arched gate that frames the entry like a welcome. The warm wood that breathes life into the white plastered walls. The tropical palms and bamboo that do not just surround the home but belong to it.
