We are proud to announce that Amas National High School is one of the 800+ pilot schools nationwide selected to implement the Strengthened Senior High School (SHS) Program this school year!

🎓 To ensure a smooth and informed transition, we are inviting all incoming Grade 11 students and their parents/guardians to attend our Orientation Program:

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Kidapawan City Mayor Atty. Jose Paolo M. Evangelista has issued an executive order (EO) declaring February 12, 2024, a non-working day and no classes in celebration of the city’s Charter Day. The announcement, made through the mayor’s official social media page, outlines the following key points:

📌𝗡𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀, both in public and private schools.
📌𝗡𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁 (𝗟𝗚𝗨) 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, including barangay local government offices.
📌𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 the festivities but may maintain a skeleton workforce if necessary.
📌𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 in the celebrations, with the final decision left to their management.

In his announcement, Mayor Evangelista humorously acknowledged the limitations of his authority, stating, “Sorry guys, mao ra gyud ning kaya sa akoang powers as Mayor. Kung ako lang unta ang Presidente, sayun ra unta kaayo ni.” He also mentioned a pending request for reconsideration with the Office of the President regarding the 30-day period for declaring holidays, but expressed doubts about its approval.

Despite these limitations, Mayor Evangelista called on the community to embrace the spirit of gratitude and unity. He reflected on the challenges the city has faced in recent years, including earthquakes, the African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak, and the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing that Kidapawan remains “progressive, peaceful, and prosperous.”

The Charter Day celebrations will feature a civic-military parade, providing residents another opportunity to witness the city’s street-dancing contingent, which previously performed at the Sinulog Festival. Mayor Evangelista encouraged everyone to join the festivities, saying, “Tomorrow is your chance to cheer for them during the civic-military parade. See you 6am tomorrow!”

The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from the community, with many expressing gratitude for the chance to celebrate and reflect on the city’s resilience.
