The most basic building blocks of your UI.

Two or more atoms working together.
→ An input field + label = Email input component.

🦠 Organisms
More complex groups of molecules and/or atoms that form a functional section.
→ Login form with email, password and button.

📐 Templates
Structure without real content.
→ Form layout or UI shell that arranges components.

12 Must-Know CSS Functions (Explained Simply) 🚀

Modern CSS isn’t just about styling. It’s about writing smart, flexible code.

These 12 functions help you create responsive layouts, perform calculations, apply logic, and reuse values, all with minimal effort.

1. clamp(min, preferred, max)

Sets a value that adjusts with screen size but stays within limits.
Example: clamp(1rem, 2vw, 2rem)
It grows with the viewport but never goes below 1rem or above 2rem.

2. calc()

Lets you do math in your CSS.
Example: width: calc(100% - 80px)
Useful when combining fluid and fixed values.

3. min() and max()

Choose the smaller or larger value.
min(90%, 600px) picks the smaller
max(300px, 40%) picks the larger
Helpful for responsive sizing.

4. minmax(min, max)

Used in CSS Grid to define column sizes.
It keeps columns within a set minimum and maximum size. Works well with auto-fit or auto-fill.

5. repeat(count, value)

Simplifies repeating values.
Instead of 1fr 1fr 1fr, write repeat(3, 1fr) for cleaner, readable code.

6. round(value, precision)

Rounds off values, often used with calc().
Good for avoiding layout issues caused by decimals.

7. rgba()

Adds transparency to colors.
Example: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5) is black with 50% opacity.

8. sign()

Checks if a number is positive, negative, or zero.
Useful for flipping direction based on values, like margins or padding.

9. attr()

Pulls an attribute from your HTML.
Example: content: attr(data-label)
Great for adding dynamic text using pseudo-elements.

10. fit-content()

Shrinks the element to fit its content, up to a limit.
Example: width: fit-content(300px) allows growth but caps it at 300px.

11. var()

Lets you use CSS variables.
Example: color: var(--primary-color)
Keeps your styles consistent and easier to manage.

12. aspect-ratio

Not technically a function but very useful.
Maintains a specific width-to-height ratio, like 16 / 9, for images or divs.

These functions help you write CSS that’s clean, responsive, and efficient.
