As of December 2025, Aklan has recorded a total of 847 HIV cases, with 798 males and 49 females affected.

These figures highlight the continuing rise of HIV cases and the importance of sustained prevention and awareness efforts. At the center of this response is HIV testing, a vital step in early detection and treatment. Knowing one’s status through regular, confidential testing helps prevent further transmission and ensures timely access to life-saving care and support services.

IN PHOTOS: Zaldy II I. Lencioco, President of the Aklan Peer Educators, attended the Aklan Provincial Youth Development Council (PYDC) 1st Quarter Meeting for Fiscal Year 2026, held at the Provincial Youth Development Office, 2nd Floor, Paseo de Aklan, Kalibo, Aklan, March 30, 2026.

The meeting covered the following agenda items: the approval of the minutes from the 4th Quarter Meeting of Fiscal Year 2025, the finalization of project proposals and their implementation schedules, and discussions on the LEAP! Programme (Learning to Earning Pathways), along with other matters.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the various youth organizations across the province of Aklan and was facilitated by the Aklan Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO).
