ASU ROTC Unit - Kalibo Campus

LOOK | Aklan State University - Kalibo ROTC UNIT, Kalibo, Aklan, conducted its 2nd Regular Instruction held on 19 September, 2026.

On or About 0730H, the Aklan State University - Kalibo ROTC Unit, under the supervision of the 601st Community Defense Center, conducted its 2nd Regular Instruction held at ASU AVR, Aklan State University - Kalibo Campus, Brgy. Andagao, Kalibo, Aklan, with MSg Richard E Dionisio PA (Res), ROTC training staff, ASU ROTC Unit.

The activity began with the total strength of 426 Cadets and Cadettes then proceeds flag raising in front of ASU Library at approximately 0730H, followed by formation at the designated area and organizing platoon formations for Basic Cadets, assisted by Advance ROTC Cadet Officers. Afterward, the cadets proceeded to the ex*****on of basic drills facilitated by Advance ROTC Cadet Officers, to instill discipline and uniformity.

At 0900H, the first period of instruction was facilitated by MSg Richard E Dionisio PA (Res) and Advance ROTC Cadet Officers, who discussed Standard Conduct of a Soldier, emphasizing proper bearing, respect for superiors, and appropriate conduct expected from cadets, where the cadets engaged in related discussions and activities.

The instruction concluded at 1200H with checking of attendance and proper dismissal of cadets to ensure all cadets participated actively.

LOOK | Aklan State University - Kalibo ROTC Unit Joins International Coastal Clean-Up 2026 on 19 SEPTEMBER 2026.

OOA 0500H, the Aklan State University - Kalibo ROTC Unit, participated in the International Coastal Clean-Up 2026 held at Pastrana Park, Kalibo, Aklan to Barangay Pook, Kalibo, Aklan, with the active participation of the ROTC Officers and the Aspirant Cadets.

The activity began with formation at Pastrana Park, Kalibo, Aklan, followed by an opening prayer and the introduction of the purpose of the clean-up drive. Afterward, the introduction of participating agencies and the designation of cleaning areas was conducted, under the guidance of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Aklan Field Office, DENR PENRO Aklan, and the Aklan Council of Human Resource Management Practitioners.

The ROTC Officers and Aspirant Cadets of ASU-Kalibo took the lead as youth volunteers, showing discipline, camaraderie, and dedication in the coastal and community clean-up efforts. At 0600H, a caravan was conducted from Pastrana Park, Kalibo, Aklan to Barangay Pook, Kalibo, Aklan, where the actual clean-up drive was executed, carrying the theme “Clean Seas Against the Climate Crisis — Tayo ang Solusyon,” to instill environmental stewardship, civic responsibility, and volunteerism among the youth.

The activity highlighted the vital role of the ROTC Officers and Aspirants not only in maintaining peace and discipline but also in protecting the environment, expressing their commitment to continue supporting environmental initiatives as part of their training in service and as a contribution to building a cleaner, safer, and more climate-resilient community.

The participating agencies of that clean up drive is Aklan State University (ASU) Faculties and staff, Department of Education (DepEd), LGU Altavas, LGU Balete, LGU Banga, LGU Kalibo, LGU Madalag, LGU Numancia, Social Security System (SSS), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), National Electrification Administration (NEA), Eamigas Publication, DENR PENRO Aklan, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), 82nd Infantry (Bantay Laya) Battalion, Philippine Army, Philippine Statistics Authority, Numancia Water District, and Philippine National Police (PNP).

On or About 0700H, the Aklan State University - Kalibo ROTC Unit, under the supervision of the 601st Community Defense Center, conducted its 1st Regular Instruction held at ASU AVR, Aklan State University - Kalibo Campus, Brgy. Andagao, Kalibo, Aklan, with MSg Richard E Dionisio PA (Res), ROTC training staff, ASU ROTC Unit.

The activity began with the total strength of 377 Cadets and Cadettes then proceeds formation at the designated area, followed by organizing platoon formations for Basic Cadets, assisted by Advance ROTC Cadet Officers. Afterward, the cadets proceeded to the distribution and checking of attendance at approximately 0730H, to instill discipline and uniformity.

At 0730H, the first period of instruction was facilitated by MSg Richard E Dionisio PA (Res) and Advance ROTC Cadet Officers, who discussed Legal Basis of ROTC and Military Courtesy and Discipline, emphasizing proper bearing, respect for superiors, and appropriate conduct expected from cadets, where the cadets engaged in related discussions and activities.

During the morning session, MAJ Juanito N Mangaoang PA (Res), Commandant of the Aklan State University ROTC Unit, together with SSG Jomer L Neron (AGS) PA, Admin NCO, and the Incoming Regiment Corps Commander, C/CPT Carlo Magne B Quirino 1CL, visited the ROTC cadets and provided guidance along with the GMA personnel during the session.

The instruction concluded at 1200H with checking of attendance and proper dismissal of cadets to ensure all cadets participated actively.

On or about 10 September, 2026, the Aklan State University Kalibo ROTC Unit conducted a Wreath Laying Ceremony at Lilo-an, Malinao, Aklan to commemorate the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) who were ambushed by the NPA in the past. The program began with the arrival of ROTC Officers, military personnel, and local officials at the memorial site. The 601ST COMMUNITY DEFENSE CENTER (CDC) with ADVANCE ROTC CADET OFFICERS together with members of the 82nd INFANTRY " BANTAY LAYA" BATTALION offered flowers at the monument as a sign of respect. This was followed by a 21-gun salute and a moment of silence to honor the heroes who sacrificed their lives to defend the country. The ceremony served as a reminder of the bravery and patriotism of our soldiers and aimed to instill in the cadets the values of honor, service, and love for the nation. Through this activity, the ASU-Kalibo ROTC Unit demonstrated its commitment to upholding the legacy of those who gave their lives for peace and freedom.
