Another year, another stage is set for the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – University of Southern Mindanao Student Chapter (PICE-USM SC) to elect its new set of officers for Academic Year 2026–2027.

The positions open for aspiring candidates are as follows: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, and Public Relations Officer.

All PICE-USM members who will be enrolled in units/subjects during the first semester of AY 2026–2027 are eligible to run.

The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – USM Student Chapter proudly applauds the success of its 52 newly licensed Civil Engineers who passed the March 2026 Civil Engineering Licensure Examination (CELE). Their passion, perseverance, and dedication to excellence bring honor not only to the University of Southern Mindanao but also to the civil engineering profession.

Surpassing the national passing rate of 35.05%, USM recorded a 64.20% passing rate among first takers and achieved an overall passing rate of 54.74%, reflecting the university’s continued commitment to academic excellence and professional competence in engineering education.

The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) secured the 26th spot in the list of Top 30 Performing Schools in the March 2026 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination (CELE) with 50 or more examinees, based on data shared by CE Box Tutorial Page.

USM recorded a 54.74% passing rate (52 out of 95), higher than the national passing rate of 35.05%, while first-time takers posted 64.20% (52 out of 81).

𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗘-𝗨𝗦𝗠 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝟰 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀

Two senior members of the PICE-USM SC clinched four medals in the 28th Word Cup Philippines, held on March 6–8 at Ating Tahanan, Baguio City.

Shahera Kadatuan secured Gold in Feature Writing and Silver in Sports Writing, while Kenneth John Ferrariz earned Gold in Science and Technology Writing and Bronze in Sports Writing in the national journalism competition.
Both represented the University as staffers of The Mindanao Tech, the official student publication of the University of Southern Mindanao.

As a group, the Mindanao Tech delegation garnered 14 awards, competing against more than 200 campus journalists from across the country.

Engineers Esplana Realuyo & Co. (EERC) Review Center conducted an online orientation and program introduction for members of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – University of Southern Mindanao Student Chapter (PICE–USM SC) on March 7, presenting its board examination preparation programs for aspiring civil engineers.

During the session, representatives introduced the center’s Face-to-Face, Pure Online, and Blended Learning review formats, along with its “Back to Basic / Back to Zero” teaching approach, which focuses on strengthening students’ understanding of fundamental civil engineering concepts.

Students were also introduced to the center’s key review features, including access to the EERC Learning Site with over 200 soft-copy reviewers and examinations, regular quizzes and pre-board examinations using Scantron technology, final coaching sessions, and specialized review books developed by the center’s instructors, who are also board exam topnotchers.

The center also shared details about its Super Early Bird promo packages for the September 2026 Civil Engineering Licensure Examination (CELE), offering discounted review rates for students who enroll early.

EERC Review Center is recognized for its strong board examination performance, having produced multiple top placers, including Top 1 passers in both the April and November 2023 Civil Engineering Licensure Examinations.

The Complete Engineering Review and Training Center (CERTC) paid a visit to the PICE–USM Student Chapter, formally introducing its engineering review programs and promos to aspiring civil engineers yesterday, February 19.

The visit was graced by CERTC President Engr. Giovanni Quiseo, and was attended by senior Civil Engineering students, fostering meaningful engagement and insights toward professional preparation and licensure readiness.
