We are officially opening the registration for KASALAMATAN: Building Leaders with a Heart 2026, a 3-day youth camp that aims to empower young leaders to create safer, kinder, and more inclusive school and community environments.

👥 Target Participants: Youth ages 18–30 years old
🌍 Open to all municipalities and cities in Basilan

This camp is more than just activities and workshops — it is a movement that promotes:

In celebration of Earth Day 2026, the Local Government Unit of Isabela City, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through the Isabela City Youth Development Office (ICYDO), in partnership with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), successfully conducted a Clean-Up Walk at Barangay Lanote.

The activity resulted in the collection of 71 sacks of waste, underscoring the impact of collective action in safeguarding the environment and promoting community responsibility.

The LGU extends its sincere appreciation to its partners and volunteers, including the Philippine Coast Guard – Isabela City, Barangay Lanote officials, the 6th Special Forces Battalion, Girl Scouts of the Philippines – Basilan Council, the Local Youth Development Council, and all ICYDO volunteers, for their active participation and continued support.

The City Government reaffirms its commitment to environmental protection and calls on all sectors to remain proactive in building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Isabela City.

𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐔𝐩 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞

In celebration of Earth Day 2026 with the theme “Our Power, Our Planet,” the City Government of Isabela, through CENRO in partnership with ICLYDO and CDRRMO, successfully conducted a Coastal Clean-Up Drive on April 23, 2026, at Hami Beach, Brgy. Baluno.

As a coastal community, Isabela City remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting its rich coastal resources and vibrant marine ecosystem. Our shorelines are not only natural treasures but vital lifelines that sustain livelihoods, support biodiversity, and contribute to the well-being of our people.

The activity was made possible through the strong support and collaboration of the following partners:

The City Government of Isabela through the Isabela City Youth Development Office (ICYDO), in partnership with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), is inviting volunteers to participate in the following clean-up activities:

📍 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 (𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆) | 𝟰:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻-𝗨𝗽 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸 at Brgy. Lanote, Isabela City, Basilan

These activities aim to promote environmental awareness, reduce plastic pollution, and encourage community participation in maintaining clean and sustainable surroundings.

Participants are requested to bring the following:
• Personal water bottle
• Clean-up materials (e.g., sacks, rakes, or trash bags)
• Gloves

Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for the activity.

The Isabela City Youth Development Office (ICYDO) successfully convened a coordination meeting on April 16, 2026, at the Isabela City Youth Development Center, in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairpersons.

The meeting centered on key updates and critical processes in SK operations and functions. Youth Development Officer Ms. Levinia Jarejolne led discussions on the timely submission of required SK documents, emphasizing compliance and proper documentation across all barangays.

City Local Government Operations Officer (CLGOO) Mr. Arnel Alvarez, on the other hand, outlined the official guidelines for the Inventory and Turnover of Barangay and SK Properties, Financial Records, Documents, and Money Accountabilities. This includes the formation of Barangay and SK Inventory Teams, as well as the City/Municipal Assessment and Transition Team, in preparation for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) this November 2026.

This initiative highlights the city’s continued commitment to transparency, accountability, and seamless leadership transitions in local youth governance.
