Congratulations PIBVA ๐
SLP, TDLC partner for skills training in Isabela
In a joint effort to promote sustainable livelihoods, the Department of Social Welfare and Development - Sustainable Livelihood Program (DSWD-SLP), in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Isabela, Negros Occidental, and the Technology and Livelihood Development Center (TLDC), recently held a Livelihood Skills Training on Basic Baking and Beverage Preparation to Poblacion Isabela Bayanihan Vendors Association in Isabela, Negros Occidental.
The training, aimed at enhancing income-generating skills among participants, featured hands-on sessions in baking egg pies and chiffon cakes, as well as crafting popular beverages like iced coffee and milk tea.
Resource persons Rosemarie S. Veloso, Beachie Pearl B. Mendieta, and April Mae P. Jardeliza led the sessions, sharing practical knowledge and techniques that participants can use either at home or in the launch of their enterprise in their community.
Participants in return also expressed excitement and gratitude for the opportunity, noting the skills they gained would open new doors for livelihood and self-sufficiency.
The initiative was spearheaded by Project Development Officers Janine Bryshell P. Gumban and Marites S. Cabugsa, with valuable support from Provincial Partnership Officer Duriza B. Oropesa. The activity also gained support from the SLP Provincial Coordinator Ramil M. Raquit and Provincial Management and Evaluation Officer Argentina B. Basoy, who both highlighted the trainingโs potential to uplift lives through sustainable enterprise.
Poblacion Isabela Bayanihan Vendors Association is composed of 30 program participants in Brgy. Poblacion, Isabela, Negros Occidental. The association was organized and funded amounting to Php450,000 under the Sustainable Livelihood Program of DSWD/NAGEbojo / Janine Bryshelle P. Gumban/Madz
