The Philippine Normal University (PNU), the country’s National Center for Teacher Education, remains the top public institution for education majors among state universities and colleges, based on the latest EduRank.org rankings released this March. This marks the second consecutive year that PNU has held the top spot among public institutions in this category. In 2023, PNU ranked 1st overall among public and private higher education institutions. For this year, De La Salle University leads the combined category.

Meanwhile, PNU is overall ranked at 27 among 229 Philippine universities included in this year’s rendition of the ranking. Out of the total of the considered 14,131 universities from across the world, PNU sat on the 6,366th spot. Among the 5,830 Asian universities ranked, PNU also took the 2,401st rank.

Aside from Education Majors, PNU was also recognized by EduRank as top university for specific disciplines and specializations in the Philippines. For psychology, which includes Social Psychology and Child Psychology, PNU sits on the 10th spot among 66 universities. For Mathematics, PNU landed on 9th place out of 66 universities.

EduRank’s university ranking methodology presents a thoughtful and inclusive effort to improve on the limitations of traditional global rankings by combining transparency, scale, and measurable indicators. Using a fully metric-based approach, EduRank evaluates more than 14,100 universities across 183 countries through three weighted components: 45% research performance, 45% non-academic prominence, and 10% alumni impact.
