I really, really, really hate the word “Friends”. It brings me trauma, fear and pain. There’s a part of that feels bitter whenever I hear that word, and only the Lord truly knows why.

But don’t get me wrong, I still have friends and I’m grateful for them. Pero pagdating sa pagsasabi ng lahat ng pinagdadaanan ko, it’s a no. I can cry in front of them, I can share parts of what I feel, but never the whole story. Not because I don’t trust them, but because there is only one Friend I trust with every part of my heart—my victories, my failures, my fears, and my deepest wounds. That Friend is Jesus.

I’m thankful for the people God has placed in my life, those who are genuine, who listen, and who stay. But above everyone else, Jesus will always be my closest Friend.

Because people, no matter how good they are, can still fail you, especially when you’re a vulnerable person. But with Jesus, I never have to fear being judged, exposed, or abandoned. Sa Kanya, I can be completely honest, and I know I’m always safe.
