🏠 I Found a Little Piece of Europe Hiding in Tainan 🇹🇼

Walking along Fuzhong Street, just across from Tainan’s Confucius Temple,🏯 I spotted this tiny stone façade squeezed between the neighborhood buildings…🏡

📛 Not because it was famous.
📛 Not because it was on my itinerary.
📛 Not because Google told me to go there.

It simply looked so wonderfully out of place. 🏠❤️
Surrounded by typical neighborhood buildings was this little stone façade with wooden shutters, looking as if somebody accidentally dropped a tiny European cottage in the middle of Tainan. 😆

These are the things I love about walking when I travel.

You turn into a random street…
✅ slow down…
✅ look around…
😍 …and suddenly something ordinary becomes one of the things you remember.

Sometimes the best travel finds aren't on the map. They're hiding on the street where you're staying. 👣🇹🇼

They Went to Alishan. I Went Wandering. 😂🇹🇼

The tribe went to Alishan. I stayed behind in Taipei — by choice. 😄

No tour. No timetable. Just me wandering around Ximending, people-watching, exploring random streets and supposedly looking for a pair of reasonably priced shorts. 😂

This is one thing I love about traveling with family: you don't have to do everything together.

Sometimes I enjoy having a whole day with nowhere I have to be. I walk, get lost, discover something unexpected, stop when I want… and somehow the restless feet always find something interesting. 👣❤️

And yes, eventually I found the shorts — although not where I expected. 😂

One journey ends, another one begins. ✈️❤️
After a short stay in Bangkok, it was time to say sawasdee ka and see you again to Thailand and head for the next chapter — Taipei, Taiwan. 🇹🇼

There's something I always love about departure halls. You're leaving one place with new memories while already wondering what the next destination has waiting for you.

And with restless feet… staying in one place for too long was never really the plan anyway. 😂👣

A Quiet Corner of Bangkok I Almost Walked Past

Bangkok doesn't always have to be temples, traffic and busy streets. 🌿

While wandering around Old Town, my restless feet brought me to Santi Chai Prakan Park, a small green space along the Chao Phraya River.
No itinerary. No entrance ticket. Just huge old trees, a river breeze and boats quietly passing in the background. 🚤

Sometimes I enjoy places like this more than the famous attractions — somewhere you can simply stop walking, sit for a while and watch Bangkok carry on around you.

And then, of course, take a selfie before the restless feet start moving again. 😂👣

When the Rain Chooses Your Lunch 😂

I wasn't looking for lunch. I was looking for somewhere not to get drenched. 😂🌧️

While wandering around Old Bangkok, the rain suddenly poured. Street Fourth happened to be right beside me, so I ran inside.

Well... since I was already there, might as well eat. 😆

I ordered Thai stir-fried minced pork with holy basil, rice and a fried egg — Pad Kra Pao Moo Sap. 🌿🍳🇹🇭

What started as an escape from the rain turned into an accidental Thai meal.

No restaurant research. No food itinerary. Just Bangkok weather making the decision for me. 😂
Sometimes the best travel experiences aren't planned — you simply walk into them.

🌈 Some Streets Don’t Need a Filter

Found a little more color in the middle of Ximending. 🌈🇹🇼

This rainbow crossing is one of those places you can easily walk past—but of course, My Restless Feet had other plans. 😂👣

No complicated itinerary. No expensive attraction. Just wandering around Taipei and finding something that makes you stop, smile, and take a photo.

Sometimes the best travel moments are literally right under your feet. ❤️

When you finally stand beneath Taipei 101… looking up is mandatory. 😍🇹🇼

Photos don't quite prepare you for how massive it feels from down here. One of those landmarks you recognize instantly — but seeing it with your own eyes is a completely different experience.
