Ito ang bukambibig natin sa kanila. Minsan parang Gloc-9 at Eminem-coded ang bibig nila sa pagbibigay sermon, at minsan naman ay Jurrasic-feels ang takot kapag sila'y galit na.

Pero sa likod ng kanilang bawat sita at paalala ay isang pusong punong-puno ng pagmamahal. Hindi man laging malambing sa pananalita, siguradong totoo at wagas naman ang kanilang pag-aaruga. Ang bawat “mag-ingat ka,” “kumain ka na,” at “umuwi ka nang maaga” ay paraan nila ng pagmamahal.

Madalas natin silang hindi maintindihan kapag tayo’y pinapagalitan, pero alam nating ito'y para lamang sa ating kabutihan. Dahil ang tunay na ina ay hindi lang basta nag-aaruga, kundi gumagabay din sa tamang landas.

Handa silang mapagod, magtiis, at magsakripisyo para lamang masigurong magiging maayos ang kinabukasan ng kanilang mga anak. Kahit ilang sermon pa ang marinig natin, hindi mababawasan ang pagmamahal na ibinibigay nila araw-araw.

Ngayong Mother’s Day, ipaalala nating mahal natin sila—ang mga nanay nating minsa'y rapper, minsang dinosaur, pero habang-buhay na superhero ng ating buhay.

Sa bawat paggising ng mga manggagawang Pilipino, bitbit nila ang pagod ng kahapon at pag-asa para sa bukas. Ayon sa datos, ang kasalukuyang minimum wage sa NCR ay nasa ₱610–₱645 kada araw, sa ilang bahagi ng Visayas ito ay nasa ₱420–₱500, at sa iba pang probinsya, ito ay inaasahang mas mababa pa.

Sa halagang ito, kailangan nilang pagkasyahin ang pagkain, pamasahe, bayarin, at pangangailangan ng kanilang pamilya, kung saan ang isang araw na sahod ay madalas sapat lamang para sa ilang kilo ng bigas, kaunting ulam, at pamasahe sa trabaho.

Ngunit, higit pa sa numero ang kanilang ambag. Sila ang nagpapatakbo ng ekonomiya, bumubuo ng serbisyo, at nagpapagalaw sa bawat industriya.
