On 25 April 2026 at 0800H, the ROTC units of Guiuan and Salcedo conducted a joint graduation ceremony for Class 01-2026. Present were CPT Alvin B Lacaba PA (RES), Commandant of ESSU Guiuan, and 1LT Pedro R Abong PA (RES), Assistant Commandant of ESSU Salcedo.

The event was graced by Prof. Jared Harem Q. Celis, MIT, Campus Administrator of ESSU Guiuan, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, along with Dr. Eduardo A. Cablao Jr., Campus Administrator of ESSU Salcedo; Joel O. Pagala, NSTP Head of ESSU Guiuan; and Gregorio C. Tebrero, NSTP Head of ESSU Salcedo. Also present were five (5) GMA personnel and twenty-two (22) officers.

The graduating class consisted of a total of 350 cadets, including 189 females and 161 males, from the ESSU Guiuan and ESSU Salcedo units.The ceremony was held at the ESSU Guiuan Covered Court, Brgy. Salug, Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

The activity concluded at approximately 1000H on the same day.

๐‘ฎ๐‘ผ๐‘ฐ๐‘ผ๐‘จ๐‘ต, ๐‘ฌ๐’‚๐’”๐’•๐’†๐’“๐’ ๐‘บ๐’‚๐’Ž๐’‚๐’“ โ€” The ROTC units of ESSU Guiuan and Salcedo participated in the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) 2026 held at the ESSU Guiuan Campus, reinforcing their commitment to discipline, training, and organizational excellence.

The inspection was led by COL RONALD M ILLANA MNSA (INF) PA, who served as Chairman, together with the RAATI inspection team. The conduct of the inspection was made possible through the support and supervision of National Service Training Program (NSTP) Head Joel O. Pagala, Campus Administrator Prof. Jared Harem Q. Celis (MIT, DITc), AROTC Commandant CPT ALVIN B LACABA PA (RES), and 1LT PEDRO R ABONG JR PA (RES) Assistant Commandant, ROTC Salcedo Unit. Faculty members, trainers, and staff also contributed to the smooth implementation of the activity.

RAATI is an annual evaluation aimed at ensuring that ROTC units uphold high standards in training, organization, and leadership development. It serves as a platform for assessing cadetsโ€™ competencies while strengthening discipline, teamwork, and accountability within the unit.

The successful conduct of RAATI 2026 highlights the continued efforts of ESSU to develop responsible, resilient, and service-oriented students. It also underscores the vital role of ROTC training in shaping future leaders who are prepared to contribute to community development and national service.

On 090700 March 2026, CPT ALVIN B LACABA, PA (RES), Commandant of the ESSU Guiuan ROTC Unit, together with two (2) Graduate Military Assistants and fifteen (15) Advance ROTC Cadet Officers, spearheaded by C/COL Janelle Brittany S Abuyen, 1CL, Corps Commander, conducted a Culmination Ceremony in connection with the observance of Araw ng Kagitingan.

The activity was conducted for eight (8) male and four (4) female ROTC aspiring cadets, with a total of twelve (12) participants from ESSU Guiuan ROTC Unit. It was held at the ESSU Guiuan Tennis Court, ESSU Guiuan Campus, Brgy. Salug, Guiuan, Eastern Samar, and concluded at approximately 0730h on the same day.

On 28 March 2026 at 0800H, the message of the ROTC Commandant was delivered through his duly designated representative, 1LT Pedro R Abong Jr., PA (Res), Assistant Commandant of the ESSU Salcedo Unit. He was accompanied by CPL Argie F Pantaleon (Inf) PA, Tactical NCO, six (6) Graduate Military Assistants from the ESSU Guiuan ROTC Unit, and one (1) Graduate Military Assistant from the ESSU Salcedo ROTC Unit.

Twenty-six (26) advanced ROTC cadet officers, spearheaded by C/COL Janelle Brittany S Abuyen, 1CL, Corps Commander of ESSU Guiuan Campus, and C/COL Marito M Sabarillo Jr., 1CL, Corps Commander of ESSU Salcedo Unit Campus, conducted the National ROTC Month 2026 Culmination Ceremony with the theme: โ€œROTC: Shaping Disciplined Patriotsโ€”Stewards of Nation-Building and Pillars of National Security.โ€ The activity was attended by one hundred nineteen (119) male and one hundred thirty (130) female ROTC cadets of the ESSU Guiuan ROTC Unit, with a total of two hundred forty-nine (249) basic cadets from ESSU Guiuan and Salcedo.

The ceremony was held at the ESSU Guiuan Tennis Court, ESSU Guiuan Campus, Brgy. Salug, Guiuan, Eastern Samar, and concluded at approximately 0830H on the same day.

Simultaneous Kick-Off Ceremony for the 2026 National ROTC Month Celebration

On 07 March 2026, Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) Guiuan ROTC Unit, under the supervision of CPT ALVIN B LACABA PA (RES), ROTC Unit Commandant, together with Sgt FRANCIS D BALBON PA (RES), Graduate Military Assistant, supervised the participation of twenty-four (24) ROTC Cadet Officers, eighty-one (81) male cadets, and seventy-three (73) female cadets, with a total strength of one hundred fifty-four (154) cadets.

The activity was spearheaded by C/COL RYAN M CARANYAGAN 1CL, Corps Commander, together with the ROTC Cadet Officers. The unit conducted a flag-raising ceremony in commemoration of the 2026 National ROTC Month Celebration Simultaneous Kick-Off Ceremony, which aims to formally open the nationwide observance of ROTC Month and to promote patriotism, nationalism, and civic responsibility among cadets.

The ceremony was held at the ESSU Guiuan Eco Park, where cadets assembled in formation and rendered appropriate military honors during the raising of the Philippine flag.

The activity emphasized discipline, unity, and the commitment of the cadets to the ideals of the Reserve Officers Training Corps.

The event officially commenced at 0700H and concluded at 0730H on the same day.

Strengthening Partnerships for Future Leaders! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

On 05 March 2026, COL CASTOR O BAHIN MI (GSC) PA, Group Commander of 8RCDG, accompanied by COL LUZELITO Q BETINOL GSC (INF) PA, Director, and CPT ALVIN B LACABA PA (RES), Commandant of the ESSU Guiuan ROTC Unit, conducted an Exit Visit with Dr. Regina L. Docena, Officer-in-Charge; Jose O. Cabides, Administrative Finance and Support Services Officer; and Mr. Joel O. Pagala, Head of the National Service Training Program (NSTP). The visit took place at the CA Office, ESSU Guiuan Campus, Brgy. Salug, Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

The meeting highlighted the ongoing collaboration and commitment to fostering youth leadership and national service through the ROTC Program.

Following the discussion, Colonel Bahin engaged in a dialogue with the ROTC Advance Officers and Graduate Military Assistants (GMA), where he encouraged them to uphold their roles as exemplary figures in discipline, leadership, and national commitment.

At 0800H on 27 February 2026, the ESSU Guiuan ROTC Unit provided crowd security control for the Entrance Examination of ESSU GUIUAN.

Led by CPT ALVIN B LACABA PA (RES), Commandant, the team included Sgt Francis D Balbon PA (Res) Graduate Military Assistants (GMA) and eight (8) Advance ROTC Cadet Officers. Spearheaded by C/LTC JANELLE BRITTANY S ABUYEN 1CL, Corps Executive Officer ensure the smooth ex*****on of the event.

The event concluded at 1600H, with the unit receiving commendations for their outstanding discipline and service.
