Today, we 𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙧 the 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒆, 𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒖𝒏𝒘𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒆𝒙𝒉𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒆𝒔. Because of their bravery, we enjoy the independency and freedom that shape our lives today.

Being a hero is not only about the 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒆𝒇𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚—it is also about the 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆.

May this day remind us that we, too, can be 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐬 in our own ways—through kind assistance, sympathy, and unity for the good of our country.

The flag of the Republic of the Philippines as being currently used was designed in 1897 by Marcela and Lorenza Agoncillo and Delfina Herbosa de Natividad under the direction of President Emilio Aguinaldo and was unfurled during the significant declaration of Philippine independence in June 1898, since which it has been utilized as the ultimate symbolism and mark of the Filipino nation and people. 64 years later, under President Diosdado Macapagal's Presidential Proclamation No. 347, a day in the year, May 28, had been set aside and declared to commemorate its premiere unfurling, which took place on the same date in 1898, as the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠 𝐃𝐚𝐲.

The 𝑨𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒖𝒏𝒂𝒏 𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒃 of 𝑫𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒂 𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒊𝒈𝒉 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 pridefully joins the observance of this reverend holiday with the spirit of patriotism and love for our "𝑰𝑵𝑨𝑵𝑮 𝑩𝑨𝒀𝑨𝑵." 🇵🇭
